Arrived just on closing after the Lunch rush but was welcomed and not pushed to make a selection. Interesting menu and better than average wine list. Had very good food and an exceptional wine. Good hot coffee well prepared.

Mud is one of Launceston's classiest drinking and dining establishments, good for drinks, snacks, meals and functions. The location is superb, overlooking the boardwalk and Tamar River. The modern restaurant is large and spacious and offers a variety of spaces to sit in, inside and outside - tables for formal dining, bar stools and lounges for casual. The food is... More

What an amazing restaurant to have a wonderful dining experience. Right on the waterfront, with a beautiful sunset. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the 'open arm welcome' vibe that mudbar provided us, with the fun and friendly staff. The entres were amazing, which consisted of the squid & coriander dumplings and the prawn & salmon fritters. For mains, the... More

I have been here now quite a few times, once for dinner and for lunch and drinks. It's a nice atmosphere and if the service could be better it would just be perfect. The food is generally very good, we had squid and oysters and some fresh fish. It took four trips to the kitchen and back to find out... More

I just wanted to begin with saying my wife and I used to go here a lot about 3-4 years ago it was our favourite restaurant in Launceston. No real reason we stopped. We went for our wedding anniversary recently and would find it hard to go back. It was busy as always with a awesome atmosphere, great lighting and... More

Frankly the stupid service ruined my evening. Having ordered the "signature" dish for my main (over $40) I asked if I could have a side dish of fries. I was told that they did not do fries but I could order roast potatoes, which I did. Within minutes numerous tables around us seemed to being served dishes with fries. When... More

We booked weeks in advance for Good Friday, 3rd April only to receive a call on 3rd March enquiring if we were a no show - in spite of mentioning Good Friday when we booked. It turns out they do not open on Good Friday, so we booked for another night. All started well with prompt service and excellent starter,... More

After enjoying excellent dinners seven of us decided to have a birthday lunch at Mud. It was like a different restaurant. Most of the meals were ok but nothing outstanding and service was inattentive and slow. The arancini balls were a highlight, but my steak was ordered medium and was well done on one end, very rare on the other.... More

Food was sensational. Want to go back to Tasmania just for the food here! Ate here twice and were impressed both times. Squid and coriander dumplings, prawn & salmon fritters, sticky soy roasted duck, twice cooked crispy chicken and very fresh oysters. Loved the Asian fusion on the dishes we tried. Found the food and atmosphere here better than Stillwater.... More

Food was sensational. Very pricy at $84 for JUST two main meals not added vegetables/drinks etc. Lights dimmed so could not see food well. HOwever it was very tasty.
