Great pub/buffet food

We stayed in Mount Gambier as part of a charity bicycle ride from Adelaide to Melbourne. We dined in the function room at the back of the hotel which was perfect for our group of 30. Great pub/buffet food for our large group and very welcoming, friendly staff.

I went to the South Aussie for dinner with a couple of mates on a Tuesday night, we were in the Mount on holidays from Adelaide. Service was friendly, quick and excellent. I had nachos and they were the best I have ever had anywhere. I'd have to say too it's indicative of Mount Gambier as a whole, the entire... More

After waiting an hour for our meals, my snitzel was greasy, burnt, tough leather! Did not eat! The seafood platter was cold soggy Chips and seafood infused in sopping oil ! Give it a miss!

An iconic Aussie experience. The South Australian Hotel (fondly referred to by locals as the 'South Aussie') is one of the most friendly and fun pubs in the entire South East region. No bad vibes here, just good food, cold beer, friends and fun times. An essential Mount Gambier experience!

Great family pub. Service was quick and more importantly, food was delicious. Prices very reasonable. Huge selection of food for all taste buds including half size meals for the smaller diner. Drink prices were a little expensive compared to other states.

Came here for a few night for dinner.. everyday there is a special. no fuss decor and can be full some nights. there is a salad bar with nothing too special but at least its there. The most disappointing part of our visit here was the sight of mice in the corner near the heater. Management really need to get... More
