This place was recommended to us by a local shop owner in Mackay as we were looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to go. It was a beautiful drive to the top of the mountain and what a lovely surprise when we reached the Chalet, Coffee and cheesecake were just perfect and the views were amazing, would definately recommend a... OK, it's nowhere near to the standard that the title "Chalet" would promise, but it has two great points about it: 1) It has a great view, from either the indoor or outdoor dining area, down the length of the Pioneer Valley. Eating here by day therefore gives you the complete experience. 2) It has reasonably priced food at a... More

Service was average had to buy expensive meals to have a glass of wine or beer. Views were spectacular but gates to edge of cliff for photo's were off bounds.

I find it hard that this place can call itself a 'Chalet'. If you have ever been to a Chalet in Switzerland or France, and are expecting something of the sort, you will be severely disappointed. This is just a pub, with aussie pub food and a couple of beers on tap, on the side of a hill. The view... More

We hadnt been to the Chalet for some years as we have been staying at Broken River. However we decided to go down to the Chalet for Breakfast. So pleased we did as the renovations a coupld of years ago (The chalet suffered cyclone damage) really modernised the place and its a great place to eat whilst admiring the spectacular... More

What a fabulous view! Good pub food -we had the burger with all of the standard trimmings. Great grass area for kids to play while adults eat.

Staying at Mountain Edge Escape (a must visit), Simone and I walked down to the Chalet for dinner and a quiet drink to watch the sunset. Aside from one other patron (seemed like a local as he was having a good old chat and a beer with who appeared to be the owner) we had the place to ourselves. The... More

The chalet is a regular stop for us whenever we go up to Eungella from Mackay. We've been in there for morning and afternoon teas, as well as lunch. Sunday was a late afternoon tea after platypus watching. After a couple of weeks of rain we were really pleased to see that the air was really clean, and we could... More

Good old fashioned country hospitality and during the winter months a cosy warm open fire greets you. Devonshire Tea is a welcome treat as you sit and marvel at the marvellous view. The drive up to the Challet is also amazing, as you get to see many different sites along the way. Haven't stayed there but I here it is... More

We are regulars at the Eungella Chalet for lunch, service is always great, food is always excellent though a bit pricey for lunch menu but in saying that there's always so much in the plate I can never finish it. Would love to get married up there! Have never stayed in the rooms because we live in Mackay.
