Service Ok, food bland

We thought we might have chosen the wrong place when the sangria was poured from a large plastic container into a 1 litre carafe. It was a sign! As well as the sangria being mass produced, the food also tasted processed. None of the delicate spices and flavour you would normally get at a good tex... read more

I have been a long term customer at Aztec Coolangatta. The meals are fantastic no matter which you choose. The staff are always friendly and the service is always quick - Friday and Saturday nights you could wait up to 10 minutes for your meal which I think is acceptable. Drinks are a little on the high end although they... More

I don't normally get caught out having to eat food that is below par because I do my research on TA first and cherry pick the good restaurants. My bad, I didn't look before I leapt and paid the price! We started by sharing a trio of dips $14.95, not a lot of dip and a huge amount of corn... More

We had a lovely lunch ordering food that was fresh and flavorful. I cant remember the exact food but it was seafood and mexican 'pie' .The service was quick, friendly and the restaurant was beautiful. If you after some nice Mexican food I recommend Aztec.

Ate beef chilli and rice, more like beef stew as spice content was minimal, but the meat was excellent and the meal was good value for money.

Loved the fact that we were shown immediately to the coolest spot in the restaurant upon entering on a very hot day, had a bottle of water brought and replenished without asking, and they were accommodating to changing part of the dish I ordered to accommodate my taste and dislike of an ingredient. The staff were superb and can highly... More

Maybe it's because I have eaten some of the best Mexican food and am spoilt but this place is truly terrible. Came here on two occasions hoping it would be better. The cheese dip was bizarre, Weird consistency and after taste. First occasion we got the chicken and beef tacos. Dry unseasoned disgusting minced meat. It tasted as if it... More

We came there to a birthday party. It was explained how they run a party is they charge $22 a head for adults and $10 for kids. The reason the kids were $10 is because they may partake in eating dips. Then we were offered two set menus. The kids one and the adults one. The kids meals are usually... More

We wanted to get take away burrito with a few small tubs of condiments so we could go to the beach. 1. I couldn't believe the prices! 2. I was even more gobsmacked when the burnt offerings arrived in 2 tin lidded containers. 3. A burrito that size with a paltry amount of rice thats been under hot lights as... More

Found this place off a recommendation because our young kids love Mexican. We're not disappointed - they both polished off their chicken fajitas in record time and then went back to the corn chips and queso before dessert. My wife and I had some fantastic seafood inspired meals. Only downside was you need to order drinks at the bar and... More
