Superb country pub and beautiful food

Recommended by a family friend, this beautiful country pub is well-worth a visit if you're on the look out for lovely home made food and a cracking sunday roast! The pub itself is quite small (booking in advance is highly recommended) seating probably between 30-40 people. We made the occasion... read more

We ate here for the first time in several years on my wife's birthday. On a cold February night, the pub feels welcoming and cosy, although the bar was full of early evening drinkers. The dining room to the side is mainly for people eating, although a few tables were later taken by drinkers. It is a simply furnished, pleasant... More

We ate here on New Year's Eve 2014. The menu was interesting and the bar had a varied and good selection of real ales, that were well kept. The food was very disappointing. The chicken dish I had was inedible. The food was re-heated and over garnished. Nobody in our party enjoyed their meals. It felt that the pub wanted... More

Have stopped by several times for a pint in this lovely traditional pub with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. On my most recent visit I had a delicious pork sandwich, next to the fire. Perfect on a cold day.

An impromptu lunch with friends and family. The helpful staff quickly put together a table for ELEVEN of us. Food was fabulous and generous, couldn't manage a pudding. Prices very reasonable. Will return very soon.

The food is good, but £2.30 for 1/2 a pint of coke is ridiculous - rip off Britain at its worst – how can coke cost more than beer? I feel robbed!

The Wheel is a quintessential English village rustic pub/restaurant, the young couple behind the bar were friendly and helpful, the menu is quite limited and only one choice of special , though the food was tasty the portions were small and well over priced , if you have a good appitite you will be disappointed and have spend to much... Every year we have a family get together at a halfway meeting-point in the East Midlands for a pre-Christmas lunch and from the very first phone call to make the booking the team at the Wheel Inn made it a good experience. We had a couple of people with complex food allergy requirements and it was clear from those 1st... More
