Good Old Aussie Food

Since the original owner sold it, it has gone down slightly but the food remains true to the good old days (sometimes you just want a pie and chips). I noticed that the original owner is back to help out recently and things have perked up. The tables are cleaned regularly now which wasn't the... read more

Don't bother-Chicken schnitzel is thigh chicken dark meat grissly. No shredded carrot in servers no coleslaw.. Uptown I've tried you again and sorry will not be returning. This iconic cafe has been ruined by cheapness and a lack of knowledge

Visited on a Thursday night with two young children. Vegetables & chips both looked and tasted about 3 weeks old, chips were inedible. Chicken dish was ok but not worth the money. Food standards have definitely dropped at this place. Service was ok.

This is one of my all time favourite cafés in Queanbeyan. I love to take my daughters there when I visit from the south coast. The food is always stunning. Coffee is always exceptional. The owner is an absolutely beautiful man who always greets you with a happy smile. He makes a great cup of coffee and my youngest daughter... More

I went to this cafe because I found them on the ecoffee card app, and the reviews were great! Found out new owners don't use the app! The guy took our order then the other guy said no breakfast after 11am! Cranky idiots! Thankfully the kebab shop was open next door! I'll never go there again!

It was my last day in Canberra and we decided to eat in the Uptown Cafe as we were already in the shopping centre. I liked how it was set out. I ordered the hamburger with chips and a coke. It arrived quite quickly and it was delicious. The chips were nice as well. All in all it was good... More

Uptown used to be a place that was always abuzz with friendly conversation, lively and helpful staff, and good value for money snacks, meals and drinks. The owner's friendliness and energy was shared by all the staff. Now the place seems to be focussed on making money. prices have gone up 25%, the range is reduced and staff don't take... More

I have reviewed this cafe in the past as it is a regular dining place of mine. However, since its sale to a new owner, it has gone downhill fast. I still go there to try and support the young man who is trying to manage it for the new owner, but alas ... his efforts appear fruitless. The selection... More

What a shocker this place is. Honestly, the food is so bad it makes hospital food look good. Horrible fatty roast pork. Worst presentation. Indifferent service. Avoid.
