Since the original owner sold it, it has gone down slightly but the food remains true to the good old days (sometimes you just want a pie and chips). I noticed that the original owner is back to help out recently and things have perked up. The tables are cleaned regularly now which wasn't the case for a while there.

I went to this cafe because I found them on the ecoffee card app, and the reviews were great! Found out new owners don't use the app! The guy took our order then the other guy said no breakfast after 11am! Cranky idiots! Thankfully the kebab shop was open next door! I'll never go there again!

It was my last day in Canberra and we decided to eat in the Uptown Cafe as we were already in the shopping centre. I liked how it was set out. I ordered the hamburger with chips and a coke. It arrived quite quickly and it was delicious. The chips were nice as well. All in all it was good... More

Uptown used to be a place that was always abuzz with friendly conversation, lively and helpful staff, and good value for money snacks, meals and drinks. The owner's friendliness and energy was shared by all the staff. Now the place seems to be focussed on making money. prices have gone up 25%, the range is reduced and staff don't take... More

I have reviewed this cafe in the past as it is a regular dining place of mine. However, since its sale to a new owner, it has gone downhill fast. I still go there to try and support the young man who is trying to manage it for the new owner, but alas ... his efforts appear fruitless. The selection... More

What a shocker this place is. Honestly, the food is so bad it makes hospital food look good. Horrible fatty roast pork. Worst presentation. Indifferent service. Avoid.

Worst. Cafe. Of. All. Time. All I wanted was steak sandwich when I was out with my partner and mother. They received their meals but I did not. After waiting an ample time I said something, I was treated rudely by staff and they produce a leathery cold steak sandwich. I take it back complaining it was cold and they... More

My family eats at the Uptown Cafe every Thursday night as part of our late night shopping ritual. Why? Because the food is plentiful, quality and consistent. And the staff??? GREAT!!

I have frequented the Uptwont Cafe a number of times over the years with great food and service. Unforntunately the service is on the decline and the quality of the food in the last 6-12 months has taken a major dive. I don't see the owner on the counter much anymore and see new staff. I ordered a coffee and... More

I have an e coffee card and this is the only place in queanbeyan that accepts it. Went there a few times and every time the coffee was lukewarm and tasted like weak instant coffee. Stopped going there
