While the service was quite good, the duck was dry and my daughter had mild diarrhoea from the steamed dim sims. On top of that it is no longer good value - a rather basic meal for two was $50.

Great Chinese food, and great service, can't speak more highly of the New Cathay. Despite its popularity, they have resisted the temptation to put their prices up by too much. Great value meals and great service. It is our regular and we never have had an ordinary meal. The deep fried chilli beef is a favourite as well as their Singapore noodles. Really friendly staff who make you feel at home.

This restaurant is what I call 'Aussie Chinese', where wanton soup is still called 'Short soup' and there are no chopsticks in sight. The menu shows no influence of the modern trend towards more regional Chinese food (Szechuan, Peking etc.), but relies on the more universal Cantonese style food that can be found in most countries around the world. We have takeaway from here about once a month or so and the food has always been of a high standard and the staff are very friendly.

Great food, rang ahead for take away and received friendly service. Will be back again as the prices are good as well.

This restaurant is rated as number one in Queanbeyan and after a visit, we can understand why. Glad we booked on advice, because this small restaurant was full on a "quiet" Sunday night. The "specials" like Beef with black bean sauce, 2 spring rolls and special fried rice for $14-00 are the '90's prices for main courses Couple this with... More

Looks are deceiving. It is a small but busy place. Has been here a very long time. For me, I love the special no1 which is chicken and almond with fried rice with 2 spring rolls for around $13.80. The staff we know by name and they us. Thursday nights half the restaraunt has its regulars. The place may seem... More
