I'd heard about The Stunned Mullet, though despite several trips to Port Macquarie, had never been there. I'm so glad that I took the plunge. What can I say?..... the greeting was friendly, courteous and it promised a pleasant evening. The menu was something of a surprise, because I'd expected mainly seafood. Not so. The offerings covered much of the... More

Words can't really describe the amazing food in this restaurant. We ate at the Stunned Mullet several times because the food was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The tooth fish has many elements but they blend so delicately. In fact all the elements in every dish we tried complimented the dish. The wine list is extensive.... More

We happened past this establishment whilst enjoying the sights of the Port Macquarie coastline and dropped-in for lunch. James was our waiter and I'm sure, like us, you'll find him a rather likeable chap. He is extremely professional and very knowledgeable when it comes to the food and wines on offer. We started with a Pol Roger champagne and beautiful... More

We stumbled across this restaurant slightly by accident and had the most fantastic 3 course lunch - both the food and service were impeccable. We had read about the toothfish, but it was even better than expectations. Great location across from the beach. The desserts were also something special. Thanks James for a wonderful lunch.

When we asked a couple of locals if they could recommend a good restaurant, "the stunned mullet"were the only words spoken. So we dined. Our experience was fantastic. The decor, comfortable and inviting although the bench seat is a little low compared to table height if anything. The service, friendly, informative and passionate. Confident in knowing what happens in that... More

While walking gently, and slowly, around the historical points of Port Macquarie we spotted the "Sunned Mullet" and decide to break for lunch. As others have said we enjoyed a first class meal, probably the best since we arrived in Australia three weeks ago. Recipes good meals have comprised good ingredients cooked simply - and the Stunned Mullet stuck to... More

Our first night's dinner was at The Stunned Mullet. We received a free charcuterie board to start the meal. It was delicious. We then had Patagonian Toothfish. Whilst it tasted delicious the serving was very small and the price very high. It was rather disappointing.

Wow, you have to try the Glacier 51 Toothfish...funny name but the most delicious fish I have ever had. Tastes like sweet lobster with delightful firm flesh. The presentation of all 3 courses were works of art, you had to stop and appreciate the attention to detail before enjoying the delicious and innovative food. Whilst the menu is not large... More

I am not surprised this restaurant has a "hat" - equivalent to a European Michelin star. The food, service and knowledge was top quality and was the best we experienced anywhere in our 5 week trip around Australia ( including top quality/ high end restaurants in Sydney/Melbourne). I started with lobster, the fish with an Arabic influence followed by a... More

Each dish tastes so divine, you can't go wrong. Very well designed menu. My husbands favorite duck is served here, and I always go for one of the fish options and have never been disappointed. Always leave feeling like that was the best meal I've ever tasted. Service, wine, every detail well done!
