Before setting foot, we were advised by a local that it wasn't what it used to be. Seeing the lovely setting we decided to ignore the advice and see for ourselves...how foolish we were. Firstly the setting was beautiful and warm. The 'fine dining' pricing structure (entrees mid $20) and mains ($40-$60) unfortunately did not match the service (amateur staff)... More

This restaurant is up there with the best! The meals were exceptional, fine dining at its best! The staff were courteous and professional. The atmosphere of this very old building with its lovely old floors and wonderful fireplace was outstanding. We wish we lived closer but will definately be eating there again.

Nothing quite like a warm fire place, french champagne and delicate dining. The food was flawless, the service knowledgable and attentive. Romantic evening.

Lovely atmosphere in the historic cottage, made for a great conversation starter on a romantic dinner. Food was great (although small portions), best steak ever my partner said. Staff could have been a bit more attentive with drink refills etc. This is a rather expensive restaurant, but if you are prepared for that then you should enjoy the experience.

Our second visit, for lunch. Found the casual Lunch menu no longer on offer. Wait staff, while very pleasant, were not attentive. We should not need to ask for water refills, or salt. Main courses are very expensive and fish serving size was too small . Whilst I love the idea of a Veggie garden with accessible produce, I could... More

We are regular visitors to the Hunter Valley and have our favourite restaurants and cafés that we frequent most visits. Fine dining is one of the highlights of any visit to this region and there are many great options to choose from. Thinking that we should extend our horizons and try something new, we booked at Roberts after reading good... More

We are loyal through and through to Roberts. Zucchini Flowers are the most delicious entree ever. The ambiance is lovely and waitress let you enjoy your visit without being over attentive- you can eat your meal without 20 questions. It is too pretty and relaxing for words

Worst restaurant have been to for many years in Australia and overseas. Excited to again dine at Roberts Restaurant, my husbands iconic restaurant even after Robert sold it. He will never go again. The maître de pranced around but did nothing to monitor the restaurant table service and staff. We had to catch a wait staffs attention to order a... More

Well thanks for your vivid lies about my restaurant. we have viewed the footage and you are completely wrong. I usually apologise for bad service and I am sorry that we were not up to your usual extremely high standards, but you are outright lying. You were looked after and yes, service was a little slow but we were training... More

We decided to treat our son to a special restaurant for his 18th birthday. The atmosphere of Roberts set the scene. His pork belly was "awesome" and his beef was truly exceptional. In the excitement of the night he managed to share snippets of our foie gras, crab pasta and roast hen and pronounced every morsel delicious. We decided to... More

We had heard great reports on this restaurant so were looking forward to our dinner there. The ambience of this restaurant is special but we were disappointed with the service and the meal. At one stage in between entree and main meal our wine and water were empty for some time. We had to get the attention of staff (who... More

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that your experience was not up to your expectations. We are training new staff and it is hard, but the waitress was on her first shift and this is her first job. I am trying to give the local people a job and training is needed. Apologies but I am sure on... More
