Booked a table after trying their T/A pizza ( it was one of best I've had yet). From the moment we walked in until we left it was a wonderful experience. Atmosphere was nice and relaxing, food was amazing and desserts yummy. We had a lovely meal and evening at Il Cacciatore and definitely will visit again.

We dined in Il Cacciatore on Friday night with a couple of friends. We had read a few of the tripadvisor reviews and even though there were some which were not complimentary we decided to give it a go. The restaurant was quite busy. We ordered a couple of small plates to share (arancini, scallops and spinach salad) all were... More

For the past 10 years we have visited the Hunter Valley frequently, always looking forward to dinner at Il Cacciatore which is a highlight for us. We go there to enjoy, not just the wonderful food and wine, but the whole experience of dining in a relaxed atmosphere with lovely surroundings as well as being made feel welcome by friendly... More

I have dined at Il Cacciatore a number of times and have to admit it is one of my favorites. Dined with my wife as an excuse for me not to cook. The food is always well presented, generous and full of the flavors of Italy. The staff are friendly and efficient. Will be back again and again.

My prawn pasta was a little confused with a Caesar salad. I have had better pasta at fasta pasta. A huge disappointment.

Carpaccio of beef ........... under seasoned, far to much rocket salad, no depth of flavours other than the bland taste of olive oil drowning out the natural elements of the beef. Seafood bisque.... an incredibly underwhelming offering served luke warm. Again under seasoned. Stock had not been reduced enough and the flavours whilst pleasant for the first few mouthfuls, offered... More

We often travel from Sydney to the Hunter for an extended weekend getaway or special occaisions. Since discoving Il Cacciatore we always make it a point to book when in the region and this is now our 4th visit. The restaurant offers a feeling of warmth, cosiness and relaxation. The menu is faultless, which made it a challenge to choose... More

The menu was limited and did not offer the traditional Italian cuisine which we expected. The food was relatively expensive and did not equal good value in our opinion.

Hi Gary We were sorry to read you were disappointed in our menu. You have come expecting traditional food however we are ‘Northern Italian Inspired Cuisine’, we are certainly not traditional and do not claim to be. We have thirteen ‘small plates’( entrees) to choose from which include garlic pizza crust, marinated roasted local olives, homemade focaccia with local premium... More

I have to say the meals here are truly beautiful...see photos and make up your own mind. We visited from Brisbane and were recommended this place by a local winery. So impressed with not only the food but wait staff on the ball and not pestering you. The atmosphere very peaceful even though we dined with the restaurant half full.... More
