We attended for an early dinner with friends. Absolutely nothing stood out - the food was average at best and extremely overpriced. The young waitstaff were friendly and helpful (tried to give us someone else's drinks at one point) but for the price of the meals you would probably expect more professionalism. They were nice people though. Would not return... More

Went with friends for pre Xmas dinner. Very well patronised needed to book early as very popular. We were able to be seated outside which was a blessing as inside was hot and packed. The food was of good quality and a good selection to choose from. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive & pushy.

Took the family here for a farewell dinner before one of my children left for an extended overseas trip. Food was fabulous and service just right, attentive but not intrusive. So impressed. Will definitely be back

There are a lot of restaurants in Newcastle that are better at marketing food than they are at making food....then there are the places that the locals know to go: Bistro Tartine is the latter. This is a true dining experience where the chef's are respectful of the produce they are working with and you find yourself closing your eyes... More

Went here for our anniversary dinner - I had the soufflé and the duck while my partner had the scallops and the pork belly! Divine. Expensive but worth every bite. And the waitresses were lovely and very accommodating to any special requests. The manager on the floor was so lovely and a real asset to the place. Definitely coming back!

Booked Bistro Tartine for a birthday celebration for four. Restaurant was overcrowded and noisy. I was led to believe by foodie friends that this was 'the' place to eat in Newcastle so persevered. Waitress spilt my rather expensive gin & tonic on table (no cloths) & did not return to wipe it up. Had to request that this was attended... More

We've been in Newcastle nearly two years now and last night's meal at Bistro Tartine was the fine dining fix we have craved since we arrived. Could not fault a thing. Atmosphere was enchanting, service: impeccable, food: exquisite and to my delight..... the red wine was served.... not chilled... but at room temperature. It brought a tear to my eye.... More

Bistro Tartine is a reliable favourite in Newcastle serving French classics and local produce. Our entrees arrived quickly and the walnut encrusted goat's cheese did not disappoint me, and my wife enjoyed the pâté as usual. Our main courses arrived very quickly after we finished the entree, and we would have preferred a little more time between courses. Duck confit... More
