Cheap but good

had lunch here and ordered the rump steak 300grams with veg, medium rare. Was cooked perfect and portion was more than enough. The service was friendly and the meal was quick to come out. All for only $24 , I see they have many specials on also on certain nights.

Visited Mac Inn on business. Stayed here many times over last 15years. Bistro is typical pub style food and menu. Steaks in the past have been top notch and good quality. This time though it was disappointing. I had the rib eye on bone. My steak had little bone attached and was chewy and didn't impress. A renewed focus by... More

Disappointing chicken carbonara! I love a good pasta but when the chicken is raw I think I will pass. The Chiefs really need to recap their cooking skills.

Macquarie Inn is something of the 'local' bar & bistro for me. Usually good for a wine, beer or bistro style meal. The atmosphere varies depending on time of day or day of the week and is a popular meeting spot for the after work drink. When dining we regularly choose the Greek salad and add smoked salmon which is... More

Basic pub food, particularly for the price. Staff were pleasant but it wasn't the typical country pub meal you expect. It wasn't crowded either (we were there on a Saturday night) so I assume locals are not flocking here to eat. The pub itself is good with a good atmosphere and once they get their food right I am sure... More

I met with friends who were celebrating their engagement on Tuesday 2.9.14. This is the first time that I had been to the Macquarie Inn for around 2 years because I live on the other side of town. I won't be back again soon. When we went to order the main course, I asked about dessert as I really felt... More

Very average. Overcooked pork. Overcooked vegetables. Except the cauliflower which was raw. How hard can roast pork & veggies be?

The cooks obviously don't taste their own food here. Parmi undercooked with an over cooked crust, wife's Aioli tasted weird with her salt & pepper seafood & the kids nuggets were rock hard. Chips yuk! Oil needs to be changed in deep fryers. In a transient town like Dubbo you'd think that Woolworths (ALH) would have a top bistro to... More

First off, the food is great. Great price too for what you get. The service however is poor. The mad a mistake with our gravy and it too a long time to bring the food out even though there was not many people there.
