Food was good but very overpriced

Went here on Anzac Day with the family and we all had gourmet schnitzels. Politely warned that food would take 40 minutes, but only after we had ordered and paid. 4 x bistro schnitzels cost $110! A bit steep I think. 4 x lemonades cost over $13. Food tastes nice, but I don't think it's worth the... read more

Meals were mixed up in different plates, the rare steak was well done the well done was bleeding. The staff asked how our meal was, when we told her it wasn't good at all, she took our plates and walked away. No questions as to what was wrong with it at all. A big waste of time and money.

Terrible experience. Waited a hour for a meal and still could not tell us when it would be ready. Told catering for a function took priority. Got full refund - no offer of free meal. What a waste of a night. Needed to get take away.

Visiting Dubbo we got a shopping docket which advertised this pub and $5 main course buying one full price mains. Nice surrounds, we perused a menu, but decided on steaks as there was a big sign saying " the best steaks in Dubbo". We had had excellent steaks at a different pub in Dubbo a couple of nights previously so... More

had lunch here and ordered the rump steak 300grams with veg, medium rare. Was cooked perfect and portion was more than enough. The service was friendly and the meal was quick to come out. All for only $24 , I see they have many specials on also on certain nights.

Visited Mac Inn on business. Stayed here many times over last 15years. Bistro is typical pub style food and menu. Steaks in the past have been top notch and good quality. This time though it was disappointing. I had the rib eye on bone. My steak had little bone attached and was chewy and didn't impress. A renewed focus by... More

Disappointing chicken carbonara! I love a good pasta but when the chicken is raw I think I will pass. The Chiefs really need to recap their cooking skills.

Macquarie Inn is something of the 'local' bar & bistro for me. Usually good for a wine, beer or bistro style meal. The atmosphere varies depending on time of day or day of the week and is a popular meeting spot for the after work drink. When dining we regularly choose the Greek salad and add smoked salmon which is... More

Basic pub food, particularly for the price. Staff were pleasant but it wasn't the typical country pub meal you expect. It wasn't crowded either (we were there on a Saturday night) so I assume locals are not flocking here to eat. The pub itself is good with a good atmosphere and once they get their food right I am sure... More

I met with friends who were celebrating their engagement on Tuesday 2.9.14. This is the first time that I had been to the Macquarie Inn for around 2 years because I live on the other side of town. I won't be back again soon. When we went to order the main course, I asked about dessert as I really felt... More
