Only ordered main course. Waited an hour and 20 minutes for a barely cooked rack of lamb with not so much as a crumb of anything offered in the meantime. And, no attempt to make amends.

After a disappointing look at our accommodation, this restaurant went some way to rescuing the weekend. The food was very good, while just a little bit over priced but the wine list and service more than made up for any concerns on that front. Would go back there in a instant.

We love going here. David really knows his wine, the waitresses are very aware of your needs without being over the top. The food is always fresh and local. The only criticism is that sometimes it can be noisy but then again if there are large groups going we are always informed so we could choose not to go. We... More

The Border Wine is very good & I am surprised by the reviews of other guests shown on this web site. This is the second occasion I have visited & can honestly say on each visit I have not been disappointed. My food was excellent, cooked spot on. The wine list is just wonderful & you are unlikely to get... More

Started with the entrée platter for 4. At $42 a plate I expected a little bit more than one of each, plate came with bread but no butter was offered. For the main I ordered the pork belly, which was $36. I was anticipating that slightly sick feeling you get when you eat a delicious, melt in your mouth serving... More

We had our wedding reception here recently and we were very disappointed with the service and the meals. We waited two hours for our main meals with no apology for the delay or prior warning. The only justification we received was that a couple of people had come in early. As a result we had to order 2 grazing plates... More

Birthday dinner for partner and disappointed. Steak ($37) cooked as requested and tender but came with 9 "thrice cooked chips" in a small stack and a lettuce leaf, requiring some vegetables (a single serve) as a side dish for an additional $7.50. My fish of the day was very moist and a nice small meal but a bit overpriced for... More

It was our first night out whilst visiting friends, and we were looking forward to a good meal. Unfortunately the meal did not live up to expectation or recommendations. The menu was not very inspiring, and when the food arrived it just didn't have that wow factor, and was frankly, bland too. My main course veal shank wasn't tasty, and... More

We met up with a group of old friends for a terrific dinner here in late May 2013. We had been a few times before as a couple, this was a more serious gathering. Excellent food (a fairly small menu range, I think between us we had everything!), excellent wine list (we did the matching wines), and terrific service from... More

The service was acceptable (manager fantastic, casual staff not so), and the wine list was great, but most of the food was incredibly salty, and the Duck Confit was inedibly salty and grey in color. It wasn't off or anything, just that the color was not appealing. A beautiful piece of steak and cooked tp perfection although once again it... More
