A lovely lunch.

We had a walk around Pin Mill then decided to stop for lunch. The service was quick and friendly. The location and decor is great. The food was tasty, very good seafood however maybe a little in the expensive side. I will go again and have already recommended it to a friend.

Popped down the pub on Sunday for some lunch and had a lovely afternoon. Food was ok, not the best pub grub we've had in the area and I found the portions were really large, to much for us to eat. But it was a great atmosphere, perfect for a pint in front of the fire.

This pub is great to visit any time of the year, in Summer you can sit outside enjoying the view of the River Orwell, or in the Winter sit inside keeping warm by the log fires. Food is first class and reasonably priced with friendly staff giving excellent service. Good selection of well kept Adnam's beers and my wife liked... More

This pub is worth a visit even if you only want a quick drink because the setting is fab. I popped in on Sunday and quickly read the reviews prior to ordering a Sunday roast, the menu has a good selection of food, typical pub burgers, fish and chips etc, however we choose the roast beef and lamb. The beef... More

Our party was three adults, thats, two senior citizens, me, the forty something birthday girl and a 17 year old. Our meal was at 6.30 on a Saturday eve, and the car park was full, which, I think is a good sign. Someone quickly moved so we got a space. Went inside, was given table. We heard that there was... Imagine a pub that does not need to try as its location keeps on bringing the punters in. Welcome to the Butt and Oyster. Sometimes it is great to pop in here for a quick beer. It can be a great place to chat with locals, but (and I have a big butt) you have to accept that the staff... More

6 of us went on a cold January day. Pub car park was full but there's a pay and display a short walk away. Staff were welcoming and the pub has a relaxed atmosphere and allows well behaved dogs. We didn't want a big lunch - friends had sandwiches which were good and I had Deben mussels in cocunut milk... More

We have been back three or four times recently and the new menu is good and caters for most. The pulled pork is very good and the portion quite generous. The service has improved too.

Please stay away. I like this pub so much I prefer it to myself. The river, the timeless atmosphere, the beer, the food. One of the most iconic pubs I know.

We went en famille on the basis of recommendation from a friend who used to come here many years ago. We were not disappointed! Location on edge of water very scenic. Atmosphere terrific and combines olde worlds with chic and classy. Log fires in bars, fresh scrubbed tables in dining area. Very good choice of food with an emphasis to... More
