Great location, great food!

Not really had a bad experience here. On a sunny day it's a cracking place for lunch or an early evening meal. The beer is good, the food is even better and the service has always been well up to scratch. Thoroughly recommended and I'll be back there this weekend.

The place is tucked away and would be hard to find without a navigator. But once you do get there it's really worth the visit. The setting is lovely and Sunday roast we had was delicious. It was packed though, so if you are coming for a meal I'd recommend booking a table.

Nice location great pity about the food, at best mediocre pub grub, feels like you should be greatfull to be in such a historic famous pub they don't bother with the food.

Always worth the venture off A12 on to the Shotley Peninsular for a meal and pint on the river, do not be put off by the Suffolk Food Hall on the road, that is worth a separate trip as well but I haven't tried the main restaurant food yet but understand very good. We were at the Bull and Oyster... More

Pint (Adnams Ghostship) and a generous chicken Caesar sandwich with salad garnish, on a sunny Monday lunchtime. Place was nicely busy and service was extremely prompt and efficient. I sat outside. This is one of the Deben Inns and they deserve to do well. Free WiFi too.

This is a family favorite, with beautiful views over the river while you enjoy your food. Food has always been decent, although a little pricey. Definitely worth a visit, even just for the pleasant surroundings.

Staying with family in Ipswich. Apparently Pin Mill is so good that it's uncomfortably full in summer. But an overcast Wednesday evening in May is different. A walk overlooking the Orwell estuary, and racing paper boats through the drainage channels, gave us an appetite. My CID, chips and peas was first class, and my wife's chicken breast was tasty and... We visited on a sunny Saturday evening. Thank goodness we had booked a table because it was very busy. But the service was good and the food was very tasty. We ate in the dining room but there are other rooms, the bar itself and outside tables. There is a great atmosphere, a good mix of people and lovely views... More

Me and my girlfriend wanted to stop some where close to ipswich for Sunday lunch. Not only is the view fantastic (even from the upstairs restaurant) but the food is excellent in quality, quantity and value highly recommended is the Sunday roasts.

Fire in cold weather, river views in summer, good food, real ales, parking and it's one of the best kept secrets for Ipswich folk.
