Perfect!

We had a very enjoyable meal at Redcliff. Both the food and service were beyond reproach and the bill at the end if the evening was very reasonable. What was particularly noticeable was the quiet and efficient way the staff went about their tasks. It made the whole experience even more relaxing.

Arrived late in Te Anau. Recommended by local convenience store when asked to recomend quality food in the town. Overwhelmingly impressed by the staff. Warm engaging welcome from Michelle when I walked in, despite being obviously extremely busy. She's a real asset at the front bar. Despite being late, having no booking, and a solo diner, she recommended saying to... More

After a day tramping the Redcliff is the perfect antidote. A neat atmospheric place which oozes charm and character unpretentious but thought out. The atmosphere gently convivial rather than noisy and distracting. The food is imaginative and takes risks ( the naughty chocolate soufflé) but the golden rules of good cooking for me (taste/texture/sympathetic combinations) are all in place. Great... More

This place is incredible. Small, quaint with a lot of personality. Beautiful courtyard dining in the back when the weather is nice. Incredible local fair. Venison and lamb was amazing but you'll see the farms of them right before you drive into town so you know the meat is local. Great wine list of local wines, reasonably priced. Service was efficient... More

The owner of local B&B recommended us to try Redcliff Restaurant. We were there quite early in the evening and happy enough to have a table without reservation (otherwise it's strongly advised). Choose lamb and venison, both were very good but the later was just simply excellent and uniqe with the smashed pumpkin. Even the price was okay comparing to... More

The food was excellent but the staff seemed to be made up of inexperienced and poorly trained individuals. Perhaps they were trying, but they were disorganized and inattentive. For example, one person took our order and others brought the food to the table - but no one seemed responsible for the table, nobody came back to the table to see... More

Our dinning experience was positive as the waitress was very friendly and food indeed was well prepared and pretty delicious but though for the price point they are charging it should be better. We had soup and duck wing for entree and pork hock and fish of the day for main. Add a bit drink the final bill was way... More

The food was very good but the kitchen and staff seem over extended, plus we got sat a the table next to the toilet door which was a little unfortunate and too close for comfort. I would definitely recommend it for good food but if you can avoid the new years rush I am sure you would get a better... More

Te Anau is a tourist town, and a lot of the dining options are acceptable but not spectacular. Redcliff takes it up a notch. The food aspirations were a level above and execution was pretty good - though ultimately not that memorable. The tasting flight of local Pinot Noirs is a nice touch for tourists early in their NZ visit... More
