It was the days of the Kepler Marathon in Te Anau, so I could feel that all restaurants would be very busy. In the Lonely Planet it says that bookings are not taken at the Redcliff, so I passed by in the afternoon and a lady-manager present told me that they would reserve a table for me, if I... read more

I find it impossible to comprehend any of the few low scores given here. If people came expecting a different style I can’t imagine anything other than their expectations being exceeded. I suppose, however unlikely, it is possible that some administrative or technical disaster occurred but cannot believe the staff would have done anything short of moving Heaven and Earth... More

We were advised to check out Redcliff by both our travel agent and the motel we stayed at. We really enjoyed our meals. We left making a booking a little late in the day so were limited with what choices were available for the time we could eat, so make sure you get in early with making a booking if... More

Te Anau is not a really big town so finding a quality dining restaurant was a surprising and welcomed experience. The atmosphere was rustic, candles on tables, wooden floors throughout a series of small spaces. The food was very good. The chefs are creative and are using really good ingredients. I had a venison back strap and my partner had... More

we met up with some friends we had met earlier on our vacation at this very pleasant restaurant. The service was quite good, as was the food. I had peppermint roasted lamb with a pea purée, which was melt in the mouth tender, my husband had short ribs with potatoes and salad, also very tender. Our friend was not happy... More

Based on a recommendation we went to Redcliff after completing the Hollyford track and had a well deserved and thoroughly delicious meal! Great spot!

My wife and I visited Te Anau and tried to reserve a table for a few times but there was no available place, we had to make a reservation a day before. We finally got a reservation and got to the restaurant and found that there are tables inside and outside. We got a table outside, which in my opinion... More

First impression is of a tiny, coosy, bit artistic type of beergarden. But the restaurant serves food and wine of a high standard. Tasteful and tastefully arranged. The inside is much larger than one would expect. A welcome change to the omnipresent bars that serve food.

This restaurant was fantastic. We went for dinner, had a lamb dish & a venison dish. Both were excellent. For kids, they made this great sample platter with fruit, veggies, egg rolls, bread, dip, fries, soup... Seriously great! Highly recommend it!

The ambience of the restaurant and the staff are quite nice but we were a bit disappointed with our meals. We had the ciabatta with confit garlic and mustard butter to start. The garlic was nice but could have done with some olive oil. The mustard butter was over-powering - way too much mustard. For mains we had blue cod... More
