Olive Tree - nice cafe with extremely nice hosts. It is located on the main street but is set a little back so it is not visible right away. If you are travelling down the road with the lake behind you then it will be to your right. The coffee is good but the food is not however upto the... More

It all started when both of me and my wife had to deal with broken car we had rented from a local company that day during our trip from Queenstown to Milford Sound in the last day of July. As our... Warm and welcoming on a cold morning, helpful staff and good food. We will go back there next time we visit Te Anau.

Great range of teas here with generous home made cakes. Nothing to look at from outside but the food/service speaks for itself. We went back twice in the two days we stayed in Te Anau. They do breakfast and lunch but we didn't get to sample that.

We had the banana caramel roll, which is absolutely to die for. I would go back to Te Anau just for that! The only drawback was that there was... More

The coffee was the only things that saved the day. The bacon was round slices of pressed ?bacon, the tomatoes were unripe, mushrooms tasted as if they were out of a tin and all this for $18. How hard is it to produce good basic brunch? There are too many choices on the menu, they would be better to have... More

The 'Olive Tree' is a cafe style bistro in the centre of Te Anau. Nothing fancy, simple decor, plenty of choice & very friendly service. There is a lot of deer farming in this area so it was good to try the venison. We had wild venison cooked with a plum sauce (sweet & sour style) with chips & salad... More

We loved this little cafe ... the staff were friendly and the food was good. On top of that free wi-fi and if you need gluten-free, they have it.
