Its Ok just your typical Chinese restaurant

Travelling with Asians who just wanted to eat some Chinese food after days of eating Western food. Service was good, food quite standard but left with a MSG after taste.

The change of ownership has been a big disappointment for Te Anau. We regularly had “Take-aways” from here and since the new owners have taken over there is no consistency in the meals. I have given them the benefit of the doubt but enough is enough. I understand the staff member employed in home deliveries has been stood down due... More

We ordered three dishes, the first dish came out more than 30 minutes later, which we could not eat straight away as we had to wait for the fried rice, which we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for. Within that 15-20 minutes, we saw one other group got who ordered later than us had their third and fourth dishes... More

We took the set menu A Spring rolls Wonton soup Chicken Pork Mixed rice Desert ice cream For 28$ each person. All tasted very good and I think this is very price worth. The serving personal was very effective but not so talkative.

Recommended by our B&B and it was a good choice. Filled with Chinese tourist and locals. We had Mongollan lamb, wonton soup, string beans and vegetable noodles. Excellent! Service was very good. Portions were plenty to share. Would recommend.

Our meal at the Ming Garden was delicious and the food authentic. Lots of local people seemed to be eating here too. They didn't have a couple of items on the menu which was a bit frustrating but the food we had was tasty and well cooked and there was plenty of choice. The restaurant was busy and had a steady... Worst Chinese food we had in years and very pricey. It seemed the owner had no intention to do business with us. Maybe the bus-loads of Chinese tourists is enough to keep them in business so they don't care about other customers.

little portions, lack of flavor, the black been had no black beans in it.....combination fried rice had only shrimps and pork. The chicken cashews was overloaded with canned mushrooms.... the new owners need to rethink what they are doing.... a real let down for Te Anua

Probably the first chinese meal i haven't enjoyed. We got Chicken & Pineapple and a special fried rice. The chicken & pineapple had almost no flavour with peas and corn and odd looking mushrooms. The fried rice had so much sloppy scrambled egg and was just odd!

For a local Chinese in a tourist town this was surprisingly good Food was tasty & (for suburban Chinese) authentic Only downside was that we got served warm beers - a big no no - but these were replaced when requested
