Decor very average. Live Crayfish tanks. Food was nice but not fantastic. Seemed not particularly clean.

Felt like tasty food after a day of travelling and sight seeing. Wandered past several restaurants before deciding on China City due to a couple of items on the menu. Great choice as the food was delicious, service was efficient and price reasonable.

I was there with some friends who loved Chinese food. We had several dishes with fish, beef, pork, chicken, vegetables and a seafood soup. The seafood soup was very delicious. The deep fried fish fillets had a bit of bones. Otherwise, it tasted good. All in all, I was satisfied with the meal and the serving staff.

I wish i would check the trip advisor before we walked in. The set up was dreadful. Food very disappointing. Ordered sizzling prawns, that came out steamed and bland. 7 prawns for $30 - I felt cheated.

But the queues of Chinese who are on the coach tours jostling in (a cultural anathema) queues to get their noodle and rice fix is bordering on the laughable and tragically pathetic. "Come to New Zealand...eat noodles!" Lamb, fish, root vegetables, beef....let's try and not be stereotypical!

large place, caters mostly to chinese tour groups it seems, takeaway and sit down menus are different, the food is ok - not good not bad - average. We had fried rice, chow mein, chicken with veggies and sweet and sour chicken. The chicken with veggies and the chow mein were the same stuff with just the chowmein thrown in... More

A clean, tidy and big Chinese restaurant at an excellent location as it was within walking distance from our hotel. The staff were nice, friendly and helpful. It served excellent Chinese food, especially the black pepper deer and lamb dishes. However, don't be surprised to find a quite crowded guests from Mainland China inside .......

If you are craving for Chinese food then this place is an adequate choice. Reasonably authentic in flavour but portions are small and the prices on the high side. The sweet and sour pork was nice.

We picked this restaurant because it opened for dinner at 5:00 (vs. 5:30 at the other Chinese place); we were the only diners there, until a bus pulled up and the dining room was flooded with Chinese tourists (the large tables with "lazy Susans" should have been a tip off). I took this as a good sign, as they were... More
