Great Food!

Cool place with great food to get you energised for a day out! Opens early (7 am I think). I would recommend the big breakfast!

A nice feel to this little café, which had a reasonable menu for breakfast and an all day menu. Our full breakfast was very ample, even if the tea and coffee got there ten minutes before the breakfast did! Seriously, how hard can it be to bring them both together? I tried the salmon bagel, which was a combination of... More

Great choice of food and drinks, Central location and excellent indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were attentive and quick. Relaxed here and read a magazine. Very popular place.

Great coffee served by friendly staff with a quaint setting. We enjoy a fabulous lunch. A very busy cafe.

Warm welcome and good breakfast menu. Ate here twice and both times food was excellent and gave a good start to th day. We didn't actually need lunch! Highly recommended.

Stopped off in Te Anau on a wet and miserable day and chose the Sandfly Cafe as it was near where we parked the car. We ordered a couple of coffees and selected 2 of the Raspberry and White Chocolate Muffins to keep the hunger pangs away. What a good choice - they were far and away the best muffins... More

had brunch here on the Sunday before our departure, I think the meals were a little overpriced for the size you get. they also forgot the bacon on my partners pancakes. customer service wasn't the greatest, a little rude. would try another cafe before returning to this one.

possibly the best on the South Island. And we tried a few :-) Chocolate Milkshakes and Iced Coffees also excellent and the location is ideal for watching the other members of your party slog round the supermarket across the road looking for provisions for your next Fjordland tramp.

We came here twice given how good the coffee was on day 1. On day 2 we got to try some Breaky which was yum scrum. Had a muesli and a bacon and hash brown roll. So good.

My family of 4 ate breakfast at the Sandfly Café. It was delicious. We had a variety of things from the menu and the counter. The staff was friendly and the prices were average for cafes in NZ. I would definitely return.
