Fat Duck was recommended to us by many locals, including our B&B hosts. We went on a very cold night, it seemed like the heat wasn't working in the restaurant. We had to get up and move away from the windows and keep our coats on just to stay warm. My husband had the "hot pie" which he loved. I... More

The restaurant was recommended to us by our coach driver and we are really thankful to him for that! It was by far one of the best culinary experiences we made during our trip in NZ. I had a delicious soup of the day (which happened to be the Thai pumpkin soup) with garlic bread and my husband a tasty... More

We had been recommended the Fat Duck from our hotel as a good place to go for the internet. We headed in and looked at the menu, happy to try the all day $20 meal and drink deal. We started with a lunch of a single meal between the two of us, the pasta dish. It was delicious and filled... More

We were referred to this restaurant and were definitely not disappointed. I had the best lamb salad ever. My husband also enjoyed his meal. The service was great. The food quantity and quality were super!

Great restaurant in the town centre. 2 minutes walk from the lake shore. Great choice on the menu, polite staff, good choice of drinks. Food was great quality at a decent price.

Went here twice to eat, once the day we arrived for lunch and for dinner the night before we left. Beautiful meals, big meals and very delicious. Would recommend this place every time.

Very good food with fast, friendly service. Reasonably priced. The menu has a mixed variety of different foods. Recommend here for a good dinner.

The Fat Duck is the perfect place for lunch in Te Anau. As well as sit-down restaurant options, they offer a cafe-style lunch, with a selection of toasties, pies, cakes and muffins. Barista coffee is available too, served in adorable candy-coloured mugs with quirky, kitsch patterned saucers. The food was fresh, good-quality and very tasty. The service was excellent, very... We came out of the Routeburn track pretty sick of instant noodles and camp food, so we were so happy to find that this restaurant had good comfort food. The wedges with cheese and bacon with sweet chili sauce was the bomb! The seafood chowder as well was chunky with lots of seafood (they didn't hold back). The service was... More
