A good meal on a cold evening in June when almost everything else was closed - tourist season over in Te Anau. My wife and I started off with soup - spicy tomato, home made - delivered in quick time hot but without bread. We had to pay to have a piece of buttered garlic bread with the soup -... More

We enjoyed our meal here. It seemed to be a popular spot with locals too. I would definitely go back here again if we find ourselves in Te Anau again :)

On a still warm summer's evening this is the place to be as there is a large outdoor eating area. The place was bustling & I can see why. Waiters were happy & friendly in the Italian way. I had Gurnard (something I love & not often available) with an avocado/tomato salsa on a warm potato & spinach salad (36$);... More

Homemade pasta with basil cream sauce and roasted vegetables, and a local Sauvignon Blanc....need I say more?! The food and atmosphere of this lovely cafe exceeded our expectations!

We loved it. A night out with friends. Fantastic yum food. Brilliant pasta and shots of lemon chello.

After a long day in Doubtful sound, Cafe Dolce Vita was an ideal place to unwind with wine and some lip smacking Italian food. The owner/person who served us was willing to engage and give his recommendations on choice of wine. Food wise the soul, garlic bread, pasta .....all were great, although with a little adaptation. Not that we took... More

Well what to say! I enjoyed every moment of our dining experience here! The food was excellent but what topped it off was the owner Roberto he was our server for the night and he had us in stitches he was a great character with a very good sense of humor! Would recommend to everyone

This place was recommended by our motel owners and to be honest when we arrived we had some reservations about the restaurant. It’s a large unit and almost resembles a former car showroom making it difficult to imagine how it could have any ambiance. That said, even when we were having a look at the menu outside, the enthusiastic owner... More

I've had great Italian and NZ food on my trip, but this was just atrocious. The service was fine, but the food was just so disappointing. We had the venison and the lamb - and they messed up the venison, the lamb was so-so.

We were recommended to eat here and whilst it is not inexpensive, the food is very good - Italian with a Kiwi twist. Staff were efficient and friendly and the place was buzzing on a Saturday evening. I would recommend booking ahead - and if you are from Europe you will want a later time than many locals seem to... More
