Of our stay in Queenstown for week, lunches were regular thing at Sombreros. They do serve good food, their enchiladas were awesome, though quesadillas could've been better. Service was bit average, it looks more like a problem of being understaffed, due to which food was delivered quite late. But nevertheless , this is Mexican food joint, you shouldn't be missing.... In our seven days in Queenstown, we went here twice. We would have gone here thrice if it was not for trying the other mexican joint. As far as Mexican is concerned, this is the best restt in Queenstown. The Enchilada is LOVELY The nachos and guacamole with taco is lovely. The Burrito was kinda sad but everything else, the... Hi there, thank you so much for the very positive review on the food and outlay of the restaurant and also for dining with us twice! It speaks volumes that you reviewed us so positively even in the face of unacceptable service from one of our wait staff. I can offer no reason or excuse for this lapse, only my... More

Tucked away on the first floor, in the centre of Queenstown, Sombreros is a real surprise. We received a great welcome and excellent service, enjoying the very affordable menu. We are in total agreement with the previous reviewers. The Quesadillas were delicious, washed down by a local Red Wine, in a friendly setting, Try a Frozen Margarita.

We went to Sombreros on our first night in Queenstown, the tacos were delicious and the quesadillas were acclaimed by my daughter as the best she's ever had. We ended up going back again another night just so we could have the quesadillas again. Service was great and a friendly atmosphere.

My partner and I went here during our stay at Queenstown, tucked away but it ended up being a great find! Customer service was great, greeted very well as we walked in. Attended to us really well and extremely friendly! The food was incredible!!! As said above, best quesadilla I have ever had! The interior was really cool too!

We had a great time here recently, my wife and I travelling with 3 teenagers. The food was abundant, too much for some! The corn chips and dips were fantastic, and everything else we ordered was generous in size and flavour. Mexican seems to be one of those cuisines that restaurants either get extremely right or incredibly wrong. Sombreros got... More

This restaurant is tucked away in a mini arcade on the second level. When I first arrived I thought it was going to be an ordinary meal and a watered down margerita. To my pleasant surprise the food was great and the drinks were very genreous. We were a group of 9, service was good although the food coming out... More

Thanks very much for coming up and I'm glad you enjoyed the Margaritas (specially the 1ltr jugs). I apologise again for the suspension of the BYO* facilities, we do this in conjunction with the local liqour bans that are in-place in the CBD over the Christmas & New Years period so as to avoid any conflict for our patrons on... Expensive & lack lustre...we were given the lunch menu to choose from at 5pm...no big dramas...decided on some quick nachoes ($22.50)...they were as good as I make at home, but love the corn chips they normally serve here, the complimentary ones you get when you sit down? Instead got generic cheese powder coated 'cafe' corn chips....such a shame Sombreros...was great... More

Hi guys, I really appreciate your feedback and also your repeat custom. I'm so sorry that we got it wrong. I've spoken with the kitchen in regards to the different tortilla chips used in your Nachos and this has been rectified. As for our lapse in customer service I can only but apologise to you and also the group that... More

The food was tasty (though a bit expensive) and the service was excellent. The two of us had a light lunch and we thought it was very good overall.

We are from Texas and have eaten a lot of Mexican food. While this didn't quite taste like the Tex-Mex food at home, it was quite good. We particularly enjoyed the beef quesadillas and the chips/salsa. One member of our party thought the burrito may have been a frozen burrito that was warmed up. Service was fast.
