Good, though overpriced

We really liked all the food, but were surprised when the bill came to over $80. 1 shared starter, 2 mains, and 1 drink per person. The food was tasty, well presented, and the staff were friendly, but we did feel like we had meals just as good for much lower prices elsewhere in the country.

I am a regular in Queenstown, and I don't feel like I have fulfilled my holiday unless I visit this place. Whether for a cheese platter and wine in the Cheesery, a wonderful lunch in the restaurant with wine, or coffee and cake of the day in front of the fire. It has a great relaxed atmosphere and big grounds... More

Wine was really good, grounds were lovely, however, service could really improve. It took 30 mins to receive our tasting wines (on patio) and there weren't many people at the tasting bar...? Then when the wines were delivered, they were dropped off without direction/pairing instructions for the cheese board we ordered. What's most odd about this place is that almost... More

My reviews must be getting boring, but this place never fails to amaze me. It is always so good and the staff are so nice. It is because of Gibstone Valley that I bought an apartment in Queenstown. We used to travel from Te Anau to have lunch with them and then return home two and a half hours drive,... More

I went to Gibbston Winery for a tour, a tasting, rented bikes, and went to the cheesry. First of all, I was a bit tired after the bus ride so I started the afternoon with a latte. I was greeted by the friendliest barrista at Gibbston who made my latte so delicious I could have hugged her. Next I met... More

We did the Gibbston Bike and Winery Experience which was just fab! We got picked up from town, taken to Gibbston and fitted out on great bikes before hitting the wineries. Olly, the bike guru, was very knowledgeable about both the bikes and the wineries. Highly highly recommended! Top tip - go as early as possible as there are a... More

We had booked for the Wine Cave Tour at 11am and for lunch at noon. The Wine Cave Tour only lasts for half an hour but is very rich in information even for someone who knows a lot about wine. We recommend it. The restaurant proposes different (paying) tastings of the wines produced by this winery. The menu is quite... More
