Lovely place to stop on way in or out of Queenstown. Enjoy a cheese platter or dine off the menu. Buy some cheese, icecream, sauces etc.

Gibbston Valley was the original winery and the one that is mentioned in all the guidebooks. However I was very disappointed with it, and I would recommend you substitute it for somewhere else if you are spending a day at the wineries. First of all, it’s one of these cellar doors where you are charged for various tastings even if... More

We’re sorry to hear that you had an unsatisfactory experience during your visit to Gibbston Valley and appreciate you taking the time out to give us feedback. As Central Otago’s founding winery, we’re often mentioned in guidebooks, and there’s a reason for it. We continue to produce premium wines and provide people with a unique environment to experience them in.... More

Well, firstly, I went to Queenstown on *this* visit as a member of Gibbston Valley's wine club, for their annual gala dinner. All I can say is…. superb evening. My only disappointment was.. that I do not eat sweet desserts and it being a fixed menu.,. it did not allow for alternatives. *sad face*. The wine, needless to say, was... More

Turned up here with 2 girl friends before they were even open one morning. The friendly staff not only opened up especially for us but they lit the fire and made us delicious coffee. Now THAT is service! Unfortunately too early for lunch but I bought a lovely bottle of "keep it for special" wine and joined the wine club... More

After biking from Arrowtown into the Gibston Valley we saw signs inviting us to come into the Gibston Winery and rather than carry on we crossed the road and visited. We wre rather hot and not looking our best so we sat outside on the peripheral seats. We had to ask for a passing waiter to be served, once we... More

This was our return to the winery after an initial visit in 2003. The place has changed quite significantly but for the better. The setting is fantastic, the restaurant is great. Greta staff , great fresh food and magnificent use of local produce. The wine tasting gives an idea of what's on offer to accompany your meal. If you've got... More

Awesome cheese and wine - if you can check out their awesome little cave used to store and age their red wines.

What a brilliant experience. The sun was shining (which helps) and it was a beautiful Otago spring day and we had a simply brilliant lunch experience at Gibbston Valley Winery. We were a mixed age family party and all the staff (the lobely lady who took our last minute booking, the wine tasting gurus, the wait staff in the restaurant... More

The mini tour around the winery was interesting. My advice would be to ask all the questions you can think of to get the most out of it. Afterwards we had a couple of snack items from the restaurant. The blue cod pate (I think it was) was amazing and worth the ten something bucks to share between two.

We stopped here because my mother in law heard good reviews, the place is beautiful but the food is to be desired. We got a light lunch, the largest platter $30 and a sandwich, the platter was measly, barely enough for one person. A selection of a few slithers of cheese and a few mediocre cold cuts. It had about... More

We appreciate your review, and we apologise that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. The charcuturie platter that you ordered from our Vintner's Kitchen is a very popular item. However, it's meant to be a lighter option to pair with wine and not a full main, like the more hearty Harvest Platter we offer in our restaurant. The platter uses... More
