A great menu created by Josh Emmett and well executed by the team at Rata was the highlight. The perfect lamb dish left me literally willing my plate not to empty. My better half was equally impressed with her Pork. The small bites, entrees and desserts were also to a top standard. Service was reasonably efficient and with some nice... More

Had great food and service was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend it. Meat just melted in your mouth, excellent sauces, fresh produce. Yum!

I know we have reviewed Rata before but this was time for a second trip back to see how it had changed. I am pleased to say it has not changed. The food is still fantastic, local, seasonal and the service is immaculate. Bring a deep wallet because it is not cheap - especially with the wine. However, you go... More

Rata is tucked in behind the Pig and Whistle bar. It is a beautifully fitted out restaurant. I have visited twice for lunch. The food was outstanding. On the second occasion we shared the Duck (for two) it was tender and tasty. I am a duck fan and this was up with the best I have had. One of the... More

We had a wonderful dinner at Rata on our recent holiday. The salmon tartar was heavenly and we had the shared Beef Wellington, wow, so big and absolutely delicious. Very attentive friendly wait staff who made the whole experience a great one

We ate at Botswana butchery, captains, flame, pier 19, Jervois steak house and i believe all of these are better! My friend took us here as she really wanted to go and we agreed because we love watching masterchef!! Don't get me wrong the food was good and nothing wrong with it but it didn't have the wow factor for... More

This is what fine dining is all about. Personal service, lovely atmosphere and mind blowingly good food. I had the best lamb I've eaten in my life. Husband had salmon that melted in your mouth. Say yes to dessert. Best dining experience we had in Queenstown.

We all really enjoyed this restaurant. It is seriously good without being off the planet. Good fare, well presented, with some outstanding plates like the Tuna Tartare. Overall good value too boot. Can recommend with confidence.

Lovely staff who were great to deal with. Some weird food combos (lamb/cheese/harissa sauce) which wasn't really my thing but everything was well presented and cooked really well. Loved my cheese roll (entree), lamb main I thought was okish and the apple cremeux dessert didn't really have much flavour (although looked amazing).
