The steak sandwiches are my favourite, but everytime I've been .. the food has taken forever to come! The inside is quite dark so better to sit outside. Staff are really friendly and social!

Queenstown has a reputation for costing a fortune but Monty's is an exception. Daily meal-deals and a good range of Montieths Beers at reasonable prices.

Good value for money. Hubby and I shared the Duck Pate as an entree, then both had the lamb shanks for dinner, YUM! Monty's is a Queenstown institution. They have excellent value lunch specials every day, and their long-running drink specials (Thursday and Sundays) ensure they are buzzing in the afternoon/evening. Ambience is welcoming, crowd is a mix of locals and backpackers, and the service is always friendly. The steak sandwich in particular is a cracking deal at $12.

If you enjoy small informal dining experiences, then's Monty's is the one. Well priced "pub food" with great maitre'd service. The Saturday night we visited, a superb two piece band were performing a mix of old, country and modern ballards......even those 60+ were on the dance floor.
