This is a 6-7 minute drive out of Queenstown in a residential area, but well worth it. The food is absolutely first rate, different from the usual tourist menu, served by one of the owners in afriendly, laid back but efficient manner while the other owner cooks - brilliantly! Very informal, unusual, relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere . Great wines, great food and excellent value for money. No views, but if you're concentrating on the food, wine and conversation who cares? Highly recommended.

Outstanding!

On our honeymoon - delicious food, outstanding service and a quirky & arty setting. Great to see an independent suburban restaurant buzz! Can't fault the welcoming atmosphere. Hosts were so friendly and wished we could take their hostess dog, Honey home. Highly recommended!

I ate at VKnow with my brother and a friend on Christmas Eve, 2014. It was an amazing evening to say the least! Danny (the owner and host) is such a showman and will make your experience the best it can be. He is one of the nicest and giving people you will ever meet. Its honestly worth it to... More

My wife and I were staying in Fernhill last evening and decided to stop into Vknow after dinner, and we were pleasantly greeted by one of their waitresses and the owner Danny upon entering. We sat at the bar area which was a very cool atmosphere and neatly decorated with wine corks covering the walls and a good selection of... More

My wife and I really enjoyed Vknow. While it is a bit outside Queenstown, it is easy enough to find. The proprietor was very friendly, he was able to make well-informed wine suggestions, and his menu was varied. I had the lamb shank which was delicious (my only sin was ordering the half-shank instead of the full Monty!), and my... More

My husband found this restaurant in one of our guide books. When we arrived Danny introduced himself at the bar, asked us our names and shook our hands. The kiwis have been very friendly but this felt like meeting extended family. The food followed suit - I had a salad and my husband had the Thai curry. Just delicious. Best... More

this out of the way place is worth finding. Very personable owner, who picked my wine for me when I was overwhelmed by the selection. Interesting food, well presented. I had the blue cod, pan sautéed on a salmon/ potato cake with salad and my husband had the steak. Really liked the cod, light, delicate and moist. The steak was... More

The owner is extremely personable and the food and wine are very good and reasonably priced. The restaurant has no view and is located in a local neighborhood outside the downtown Queenstown area. The restaurant is popular with locals and noisy. The service is extremely slow. We were seated at 7:30 PM and were not served our main course until... More

Queenstown has a lot of ordinary places to eat but this one 2km out of town in Fernhill is worth the taxi or steep walk. Lots of menu choices from pizza and bruschettas to fish, venison and duck. One thing makes place stand out: an excellent wine list with most available by the glass. Large glassware and quarter bottle serves... More

We got here on the recommendation of our fishing guide, Ayoto-san. We were given a warm welcome by the host and it is a family run restaurant with a good selection of wines. We ordered different items and all of the were good. The desert was even better and Danny's recommendation of wine was good. Old little place, up on... More

Real quality kiwi food. Relaxed and comfortable. Real people no fuss. These guys pick their staff carefully. Everyone knows what they are doing and its like dining with a group of friends. But trendy its not! Danny knows his wine and beers. Lizzie understands how to cook food. So for something outside the nine dots and the crowds take 7... More
