Skip this place if you can. Grab some food in Te Anau on the way in or just eat on the cruise. The food was rubbish at the Blue Duck, expensive and poorly cooked. The service was pretty lack lustre from the uninterested staff. It's the only show in town here at Milford Sound, so no-one to compete against.

A clean and spacious café and attached restaurant. Ready to go sweet and savoury food which is fresh and tasty. Friendly staff. A good place to just chill out or fill in some time whilst awaiting cruises on the sound.

Free limited wifi comes in handy when the urge to reconnect is required, even if the connection is painfully weak. Snaps to the coffee-maker, as well. So good that we went back for another top-up after our little cruise on the sound. CAn't say anything about the food as we didn't eat.

Chances you won't - as this is the only place to eat around. We've ordered mains ( soup , and 'trio burgers') - took ages to arrive, and tasted very poor, especially for the price. It is better to stick to the bare essential ( sandwich/ some cake) and to eat in te anau.

Nice meal, and good price for the location. Only real restaurant on Milford Sound. The staff was friendly.

Food was great! Service was great! Pool table was cheap (and I won twice)! Staff were friendly and helpful. Loads of parking.

If you are in milford sound, this is your only option for food. it has a reasonable menu for dinner and lunch. they do stop serving at 10pm. it was a cool place to hang out with locals, shoot some pool, play darts, and drink some spirits. i met alot of cool people while i was there. they dont treat... The meals to order are a bit overpriced (the sliders were expensive for their tiny size) but the counter meals were lovely and cheap. The chicken, Camembert and caramelised onion panini was beautiful and the $8 quiche was salad was not bad too. Service was pretty mediocre though.

Waited 50 minutes for lunch special: grilled meat. After 2 reminds to staff I got my food, but the chicken was not grilled properly - it was raw. I do not recommend having lunch there. Yes, the staff apologized, but that was all...
