We ate here after our Southern Discoverys day cruise, there was a good selection of food available at a reasonable price, food was good quality and tasted nice, good location for lunch or a snack for before or after your Milford cruise.

We ate twice at the Blue Duck Café and Bar both occasions were for dinner. The first night the place was packed and, whilst the service was a little slow, it was certainly made up for by the attitude of the staff trying to accommodate my onion allergy by suggesting meals which I could safely eat. A special dish of... More

OK, there aren't a lot of options in Milford Sound and we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here during our 24-hour stay in Milford Sound. That being said, the Blue Duck offered a fairly good range of hearty pub-style meals at reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly and helpful. One member of our group was well-known for not ordering... More

This is maybe the only restaurant in Milford Sound. The bar and dining area are separated by the bar itself, which makes for a casual dining experience. We ordered a dinner of mushroom risotto, calamari salad, and chicken salad, all of which were delicious. The service was OK, so, overall, we have no complaints and would definitely eat there again.

I hate to leave really bad reviews but this was by far the worst thing we ate while traveling. I did research a head of time (which warned to stay away from this place) but when we got to Milford Sound we were so hungry. The staff at the restaurant was really friendly but the food was awful. We got... More

After a morning cruise of Milford Sound we were looking for a bite to eat before heading back to Te Anau. The meals were quick and delicious, although a little expensive although this is understandable as its pretty much one of the only places to eat at Milford.

Brilliant, the chefs here are amazing! We had the fish and chips, was the best we had in New Zealand. The dessert was also fantastic. The service was amazing, and best of all the quality did not see higher prices, the prices for food and drinks was still great value, yet great quality service and food. Do yourself a favour... More

I have been into the Blue Duck a few times for dinner and drinks. The service has got to be the worst anywhere in NZ. It is obvious that the staff there are seasonal workers and just don't care about offering a "customer is always right"service. They do ensure that their personal friends are looked after as I sat at... More

We stopped here after our kayak tour for coffee. After I ordered my coffee I was standing there and noticed what poor service was going on. Another patron asked the girl behind the counter for silverware to eat her meal and she did not act with any urgency by her facial expressions and how after 5 minutes she still didn't... More
