We stopped here for lunch before our Milford Sound cruise. The food was a bit of a wait, but my curried lamb wrap was delicious - even better they had served it with a side of potato salad. Service was outgoing and the views of the mountains were stunning.

Being the only bar/restaurant in Milford I thought this place would not be good. They would pretty much charge what they wanted and you would end up paying as you have no other choice. Was surprised on visiting. Delicious food, very reasonably priced and the staff were brilliant. Zach was the best waiter i have met in a long time.... More

We did not expect much considering that this is the only place to eat and it is for visitors mostly. Food was fine and not overpriced (OK - pizza with a sauce is a bit too much for me but seems that Kiwis love it). Good place to relax, have a drink and grab some food....

Lovely staff, but couldn't really make a coffee. Sofas were comfy and we had a much needed relax after out busy day, shame about the staff vacuuming around us at 4pm - must have been home time!

Arrived at Milford, it felt blissfully like the end of the world! Went to the Blue Duck for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. The staff were so friendly and very welcoming, 2 American brothers travelling together, outstanding hospitality. I had the venison pie, absolutely yummy, cooked by a great Irish chef, thank you! My husband had the... More

There are not a lot of choices here in Milford Sound, yet this was a pleasant surprise. There were three of us and we each had something different to eat. Our host photographer, Phillip Bartlett, had the pasta, my Better half, Lynette Kent, had the smoked chicken salad and I chose the venison. I admit to weakness for venison. All... More

Not many choices in Milford Sound, but this place surprised us with a few nice dishes. Pro : Good solid risotto, nice steak, large servings of everything, attentive service "American Styled" and a great selection of beer. Con : Dirty salad leaves (they replaced straight away), really heavy fried fish, deep fried too many things. Overall, they didn't even need... More

We had the Venison rack which was the best I have had. It was perfectly cooked, tender and the flavours were fantastic. Great fellow diners which made for a great night out. The waiters were friendly and very helpful but the chef stole the evening.

We ate here after our Southern Discoverys day cruise, there was a good selection of food available at a reasonable price, food was good quality and tasted nice, good location for lunch or a snack for before or after your Milford cruise.

We ate twice at the Blue Duck Café and Bar both occasions were for dinner. The first night the place was packed and, whilst the service was a little slow, it was certainly made up for by the attitude of the staff trying to accommodate my onion allergy by suggesting meals which I could safely eat. A special dish of... More
