My wife and I had lunch at the Kiln midweek, there was only about 4 tables with customers, the rest were empty. Good service and the Seafood Chowder was one of the best I have had. Sat by the fire which added to the atmosphere. Would definitely return for another lunch. Only negative comment I would have to make, which... More

Had to wait a little bit for a table but the food was worth the wait. Didn't skimp on the portions either.

We arrived here without a booking on a busy night. Even so we were able to get seats ands us quickly. We ordered drinks which arrived promptly. Out group ordered a range of meals which also arrived in good time. The meals were great - tasty and a large size. The atmosphere was good, service friendly and prompt. Will definitely... More

A group of 5, we dined at Speights on a Monday night. It must have been the only place open in town that night as we had over an hours wait for a table. When pointing out that there were empty tables, the hostess, who was friendly & helpful, advised us that it was staff shortages in the kitchen that... More

The range of menu and quality of what was presented was very good. All within a good price range. The only negative was the outside smokers aroma sneaked in to the main restaurant.

My husband surprised me with a meal out, and decided to go to the Kiln. We weren't disappointed. We choose the roast sharing board. Wow what a meal. The meat was perfectly cooked and enough for 6 people! We had yummy roasted vegetables with lovely condiments on the side. We had enough to take home for another meal the next... More

One of my favorites place to go and eat. wonderful ambience and great vibe to the place. Our 11 year son picks this place for brunch on a Sunday as treat. That is good recommendation as he can be a fussy eater. The menu is very good and a good selection to check out and try.. reasonably priced and well... More

We only ordered 2 entrees to nibble on. My glass of wine was left empty for nearly half an hour. Our plates were not cleared until we had stacked them ourselves and pushed them aside. Waitresses seemed more preoccupied with folding napkins and chatting than serving customers. Our drinks were finally refilled. Killer playlist.

Our third visit to The Kiln- as good as ever. Delicious food, generous portion sizes and great value for money. Service on weeknights consistently attentive. Tried another ILT property, the Saucy Chef, and was very disappointed. The Kiln is our go to for a casual pub dinner, with great food, when we are in Invercargill.
