We had a lunch here. They have lots of vegetarian options. They had absolutely delicious hot cross buns for Easter. The atmosphere is really nice - obviously a popular place, and for a reason. I would definitely eat here again.

Called in to this edgy cafe for brunch before heading to Dunedin after an overnight stay in Invercargill. The Batch was recommended by our motel host and this became most obvious on entering and sampling some of the gustatory pleasures at this divine eating establishment.Top service, brilliant blackboard menu options and cabinet food selection. Vibrant atmosphere. Superb presentation of our... More

This delightful little cafe has an atmosphere suited for Southern California so it's a surprise to find it in Southland, New Zealand. The menu has a wide variety of fresh, healthy and delicious options and the coffee is delicious. I've visited The Batch a handful of times during my four visits to Invercargill during the past six months and I've... More

Maybe being from Melbourne I'm a little bit spoilt for amazing cafes and outstanding breakfasts. I ordered the hash cake here, imagining it was would be a little bit crunchy and delicious. I wanted to make sure I didn't misunderstand what hash meant, so went to wikipedia to find this description; "hash browns or hashed browns are a simple preparation... More

Wow! This was a great breakfast in what is obviously a very popular spot for both travellers and tourists alike. I had the full woks and it was hugely filling and well cooked and presented - I would definitely go back here again!

There for a late brunch/early lunch on a Sunday. Busy place but plenty of options for different types of seating. Very friendly service and informative letting us know there was a wait for coffee and how long - giving us the option of trying somewhere else if we wanted. However we were happy to stay and the food and coffee... More

Visited the Batch several times last year on business...plus we took a few clients there for breakfast as well. Excellent Eggs Benedict, and absolutely fabulous coffee! Highly recommended... Get there early before the rush starts i.e. before 7am!

- We travelled the South Island in a campervan, and finding a cafe that had great food and was easy for a campervan to park near wasn't always easy, but this cafe , being a little of the main street, had both. The salmon dish was wonderful, and the coffee, some of the best we had on the South island.... More
