The Best Dinner In NZ..!!

Walked down hill from Hulmes Court about 15~20min, came to this Speight's Beer Factory. Next to this factory is Alehouse Restaurant & pub. 7pm was packed with people and hard to find a table for two. I had a special experience that need to queue at the bar counter to order beer and foods. Then... read more

Really enjoyed the food and hospitality, great for meals after a day of looking around and even better to do the tour next door first then sit and enjoy a nice warm dining experiance

There was a mix up with our booking but they got that sorted. The meals were so big we had to take some home in doggy bags.

My mistake was to order the speights garlic bread. Far too much to eat before a main course. My Ribeye steak was very nice and the plate was full . An enjoyable and filling meal.

Four of us stopped here for lunch on Easter sunday (mainly because we couldn't find much else open) and we were very glad we did. The meal was fabulous although very large and you definitely don't need dessert afterwards! The array of memorabilia on the walls is interesting and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall a very enjoyable... More

We arrived early as we had a 3 year old that needed fed and home by 7pm. The restaurant was quiet and we ordered at 5.55pm. At 6.50pm the waiter came back and told us he lost the order. Walked out and will never go back. Several staff walked past us and served other tables around us, and despite a... More

Friend and self stopped in on way back south to home. Good Sleights that has a traditional tavern sort of set up, nice and clean, also friendly staff. Our food order was slightly mucked up for one of us but was rectified by pleasant waitress. I am not sure how many Speights I have visited but it must be several... More

Dined here with work mates tonight as we are in town for an event. Thought the service was very friendly if a little slow and the food your average pub grub fare. We enjoyed the beef snitznel, ribs and chicken parcels. We thought the beef snitznel was quite tough but tasty all the same. The desserts were a mixed bag... More

I have been to a few Speights Ale Houses and along with the Wanaka Ale house this is a wonderful bar. The olde worlde setup gives it a feel of its own. The service is great and the food great. There is also the fantastic choice of beers. Will definetly return and try to do the tour of the brewery... More
