In the Octagon. Typical Irish pub - great food, atmosphere and staff. Thoroughly recommended. Between the four of us we ordered bangers and mash, fish chowder, roast vege tart. Delicious and well priced.

This restaurant is in "the octagon" area in downtown Dunedin, Food was poor and the draft beer selections were horrible, if this is their special Irish or Scottish draft beer, who wants to drink it ? ... the bartender/manager is a zero on a 1-10 scale when it comes to dealing with well intended and honest customer opinions of his... There is nothing Irish about this supposed Irish bar. Very little atmosphere, no Irish music and understaffed, so the service was slow. When the fish and chips finally arrived, it was good, but we had to ask for salt and pepper. Very average.

Recently in Dunedin for a week and came here on three occasions to catch up with friends. On a chilly Dunedin day it's nice to be able to relax by the fire. The bar staff were very pleasant. Only had bread and dips on my visits but it was lovely. Adequate wine list

The coffee was great but the food was only ok. Loved the atmosphere right on the Octagon on a lovely spring day. It was pleasant enough but the food was pricey and the servings were pretty small for the cost.

We had dinner at The Craic last night after exploring Dunedin on foot, and we had a wonderful experience. The Craic, and Irish pub, is a cozy, warm little place right on The Octagon. There are tables outside for when the weather's warm and a crackling fire inside when the weather's not so accommodating. The fish and chips came with... More

We had lunch there, service was the worst experienced for a long time. Waitress was unfriendly, couldn't be bothered at all. the place was almost empty. the food (Fish and Chips) was alright but quite expensive. Fish battering was soggy, not crisp.
