The pancakes with banana were really delicious, and the atmosphere was good. The guy at the counter was unfriendly, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was probably just having an off day.

This is a cosy, very friendly cafe in the centre of Dunedin, just a short walk from either the Octagon or the Railway Station. They offer the tables are of varying sizes to cater for many party sizes and old church furniture is utilized to give a pleasing ambience. Breakfast is served until 11.30am. The service is quick and friendly... More

Looking specifically for a veggie place for lunch, I scoured our guide books and found this cosy cafe in Stuart St. Whilst I am veggie, my husband is not, and he is usually wary of 'new age herbal crap', as he puts it. I helped him order a falafel sandwich which he surprisingly really enjoyed - despite his usual aversion... More

Having travelled from the UK with only the briefest of turnarounds at Changi and Christchurch we were looking for something tasty and nutritious following the delights of airplane 'food'. Wandering down from the Octagon we came across this little delight. We ordered the samosa and the calzone, both absolutely delicious and just what the doctor ordered. Super scrumptious vegetarian food... More

I thoroughly enjoyed lunch here of baked potato (albeit that it was still a little crunchy in the middle) topped with spicy beans, salsa, cheese and a salad selection. The freshly prepared smoothies were both sublime too. A great place at which to take a break from sightseeing in Dunedin.

I was excited to find this cafe on Trip Advisor, as I was passing through Dunedin & wanted a place to stop for lunch. As it turned out, I arrived about 10:30, so I had eggs on toast & coffee, and took a savory scone to go for later. Everything was delicious and I couldn't believe how reasonably priced it... More

We found this place almost by accident while looking for somewhere to have breakfast, and Potpourri seems to open a little earlier than other places. The coffee is first class, the food freshly prepared and delicious, the staff friendly and welcoming. In fact we liked it so much we ate there on our second, and last day in Dunedin. I'm... More

Great coffee. Friendly atmosphere. I wish we had come here for lunch as it looked tasty and the staff seem to be enthusiastic about the food. Good cakes.

After 18 days in NZ it is clear that this is very much a carnivore country, not very sensitive or friendly towards vegetarians. Dunedin came as a pleasant surprise. Here one is actually spoilt for choice! Potpurri is actually one of many options. This one is bang in the Center, very friendly and warm, lots of interesting choices for food... More

We visited this lovely cafe late last week when we were visiting Dunedin during a very cold weather spell. The cafe was packed and buzzing when we arrived, the service was bright and cheerful. I had the best and most tasty mushroom burger and my husband had an equally delicious vegetable slice and salad. The coffee was equally spectacular. Well... More
