Splendid time

Excellent evening, the Cullen Skink was very similar to my Granny's and the drinks and service were top notch.

Excellent locally sourced food and the wine selection was very good. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had the salmon gravlax for starter and the venison for the main course. My friends tried the other dishes including the haggis starter and pork and lamb main courses. The deserts were very good too.

Staff were friendly and professional. The guy we had looking after us had a great knowledge of drinks and lead my partner and I through our selections which were well received. Food was excellent. Love the location.

We had booked a table but this did not seem essential as it was very quiet and a bIt lacking in atmosphere. The staff were friendly enough and service was efficient. We just had breads and dips to start which were fine. I had the honey/ mustard chicken and my husband the salmon. Vegetables were cooked very well - just... More

We enjoyed good food cooked and presented really well that reflected both local produce and the Scotish heritage that the restaurant theme draws on. Service was great too, with the waiters advicing on wine pairings and allowing us to taste wine prior to make a selection. Very highly recommended.

We didn't enjoy our meal. The presentation was clumsy and the food underwhelming and stodgy. If you want something fresh and inspired then go elsewhere.

Decided to pop by for dinner based on TripAdvisor reviews. Very intimate setting and the fireplace made the ambience warm and cozy. We ordered the Beef Fillet, Pork Belly and Wild Hotpot. We waited for a long while before our food was served. But it was most definitely worth the wait! Portions were huge and the food is soooo good.... More

The restaurant was very quiet but I understand that it is usually very busy. We were asked if we would like to have drinks in the bar upstairs before our meal. Both the restaurant and the bar were very welcoming and pleasant. The service was very good as we were not waiting too long for our food. When the food... More

This is a beautiful old building and the service that we received from Deb was great. The lamb rump that I ordered resembled more lamb shoulder chops that the beef fillet like serving that I had had elsewhere just a few nights before. 'Spresso was less then a thimble and served cold.
