Went there with another couple from Sydney and it was just fabulous. Service and food. Highly recommend to pay a visit.
Well done that Chef! and the owners who run this slick restaurant where the detail counts without overawing the guests. This lovely old building, part of a terrace in the middle of Dunedin is perfect for dinner. Tables are not all hugger mugger so it is easy to feel comfortable. Table staff are professional and friendly and on a nice... More
My first time at this establishment but my partner had been before. So pleased that she suggested going here. Food to die for, excellent knowledgeable staff. Service on the top line and so pleasant. I had the wild goat tagine and she had the fish stew. The chef is a genius, that is all I can say. We shared an... More
Ok I'm Scottish so I'm biased but what a delight in the middle of Dunedin to find a bar with so many good whiskies. food was good too and if you dont drink whisky so were the other drinks I'm told. Well worth a visit
Recognised on arrival from booking the night before and attentively served for the rest of the evening in a warm friendly manner. Staff clearly knew the menu and wines in depth. Lovely interior, warm fire, cosy. Food was tremendous. Excellent vegetarian options. Best desert in town. Seasonal veg was corn on the cob, very difficult to eat in a posh... More
Booked for an early dinner as the student children had "plans". The early bird menu ,which I was offered when I booked by email, is amazing value. The food was delicious especially the fish stew .Service was great with good advice on wine , ordering sides etc. Portions are generous, so generous we just managed a shared a desert amongst... More

At the Spanish/French/italian level, this would be a good rated restaurant, but for the New Zealand standards this is an AAA+/"Michelin star" restaurant. I was very impressed by how meals are cooked, the quality of the meats and vegetables they use. It is one of those restaurants... More
This place was recommended by a taxi driver and wanting to dine on a Saturday evening we called in to book. The menu options were clearly explained to us by the owner and our booking accepted. As a party of four we covered quite a bit of the menu and all our choices were nicely presented and very tasty. We... More
Very good food in a charming converted villa. The chef has some creative options on the menu (haggis, of course; mutton bird; a fantastic gnocchi with wild hare) as well as more standard fare. The quality of the food and its presentation was superb. Good wine list - we didn't try the whisky bar. Service was very good - courteous... More
