This was recommended to us by an air stewardess on Air New Zealand and we were not disappointed. A limited menu but very high quality food. The restuarant is ideally located and the atmosphere is perfect with really helpful staff. A bit of a tip the main courses are generous so think about whether you need any side orders! It's... More

Hard to fault this restaurant. Generally great food, great service, great atmosphere. I have never had a bad meal here. My only negative would be that the menu has hardly changed in the last couple of years. Nonetheless it is still my first choice for a special meal.😀

Scotia combines a cozy ambiance with excellent service and an amazing whisky list. We stopped in for a dram on a blustery day and enjoyed the upstairs Doon Bar's warm fireplace and collection of Whiskey magazines. We also ordered the smoked salmon small plate, which was excellently prepared. Loved it!

Had dinner here but the service left a lot to be desired. Waitress took our drinks order & then food order, our drinks arrived & then the entrees but never saw the waitress again. Waited a very long time for our Mains and no-one came near us. Tried to attract attention for another drink while waiting for the mains but... More

Went out for our wedding anniversary. Service was excellent, food was great, booked the early bird special which gave us plenty of time to eat our meal . Would thoroughly recommend Scotia to anyone who comes to Dunedin or wants a special night out .

This is always a favourite with my husband and myself - superb menu, excellent service and wonderful ambiance. The biggest problem is always deciding between the regular favourites on the menu or the enticing special, but either way, I've never been disappointed, and we've been well over a dozen times. I would also recommend the Doon Bar upstairs for a... More

The reviews all raved about the food, ambience and staff and I wasn't disappointed. Scotia is located very close to the Octagon and has a very cool Scotish theme. I booked for the early bird special at six pm. The food was fantastic, great flavours and great selection for a promo type menu. I had 1.5 hours to eat the... More

Excellent food, very attentive and friendly service, a great wine list and an amazing whisky collection. This restaurant was simply excellent. In addition, the ambience of the restaurant is extremely pleasant, somewhat like a gentleman's club. Highly recommended.

We arrived at Dunedin late and decided to head directly to Scotia for our dinner. Didn't disappoint. Ordered the haggies for appetizer which did not disappoint. We have the pork and the hare as the main dish with red and rose wine. The waitress has been very meticulous in explaining the dishes to us as well as allowing us time... More
