The reviews all raved about the food, ambience and staff and I wasn't disappointed. Scotia is located very close to the Octagon and has a very cool Scotish theme. I booked for the early bird special at six pm. The food was fantastic, great flavours and great selection for a promo type menu. I had 1.5 hours to eat the... More

Excellent food, very attentive and friendly service, a great wine list and an amazing whisky collection. This restaurant was simply excellent. In addition, the ambience of the restaurant is extremely pleasant, somewhat like a gentleman's club. Highly recommended.

We arrived at Dunedin late and decided to head directly to Scotia for our dinner. Didn't disappoint. Ordered the haggies for appetizer which did not disappoint. We have the pork and the hare as the main dish with red and rose wine. The waitress has been very meticulous in explaining the dishes to us as well as allowing us time... More

We took advantage of the earlybird special and ended up having 3 courses. Every dish was great! The service is spot on also. Definitely worth a visit.

Scotia has a very pleasant dining room, elegantly kitted out and reasonably quiet, while the food and service are top-knotch. The haggis with neeps and tatties is especially recommended, and the whisky bar upstairs is very atmospheric with a hundred or so rare single malts available by the glass. Just as well I don't live in Dunedin -- I'd be... More

We were down in Dunedin to catch up with our son. And Dunedin turned on its coldest spell for us, so we were in need of comfort. We booked at Scotia and went up to the bar with its great selection of whisky. The bar staff were great, and hearing my description of the taste I wanted, gave me a... More

We took advantage of the early bird special. $34 for a main and enter. In by 6pm. The deal was carefully explained to us so there was no misunderstanding. The service was prompt and very courteous. The food was excellent, generous, extremely tasty, and was as described on the menu. The pork three ways and in particular the pork belly... More

The food was ok, I had a salad as a starter which was nice but lacked dressing, main was ok, nice flavours and dessert was properly the highlight of the meal. I have been to nicer restaurant's and I don't think I would go back. We were with a large group and it was very tight seating which made it... More

I was looking forward to enjoying an evening with my wife. After splitting off from our tour group, I found this restaurant. Not making reservations, my only option was the bar since they have limited seating times. We made our way upstairs to a nice bar with a great menu. And we sat. Staff were moving about but we were... From the décor the staff and the beautiful food this has got to be my favourite restaurant Highest recommendation. A little on the pricy side but it is well worth it, we always save it for the special occasions
