Room Service Seafood Platter

Nice selection of seafood, salad and chips, big serving. There were a number of other items on the menu which I could have chosen. Prompt service with a smile.

We were stranded in Dunedin and ended up here, only one block from Otago university. The rooms were pleasant but a bit old, the service very friendly. It was good value, and I'd recommend the hotel for those that have business at the university

Great stay fantastic staff very helpful. Room clean and tidy. Beds super comfy. If you want super quiet was a little noisy with students on night on town yelling. Didn't bother me in anyway but may bother some. Overall a great place to stay within walking distance to town. A+

I stay at Cargills whenever in Dunedin for business but apart from Breakfast I have never eaten at the Restaurant. Took some business colleagues there for dinner and must say that it was a really good meal. The selection was not large but what our group had was well cooked, tasty and reasonably priced and I would eat dinner there... More

Dinner at this restaurant recently was a bit of a mixed bag. The food was plentiful and the seafood platter quite tasty, but the vegetables were very over-cooked and salty. It was quite cold outside and the temperature inside was very chilly as well! We found it really cold and didn't take our jackets off. The staff were friendly and... More

We had a breakfast with some clients at Cargils this week and I have to say it was just awful. We checked out the breakfast buffet and it was somewhat lacking. So decided to to order off menu. I ordered smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and some hash browns and my client some poached eggs on toast. Another person in... More

I led a party of 7 for a special meal. We each had a different main, and could not fault them. The desserts were also great and really topped out meals off. Thanks for the pot of tea, that was great. Thanks Willie Cargills for the wonderful hospitality & meal From the Facebook page, Growing up in Dunedin in the... More

Stayed here last night with 2 of my teenage children. Received a good rate- $125 for the night which included breakfast. Receptionist was very helpful. Our room was ideal for our needs. Beautiful court yard. Could hear abit of noise from adjoining rooms but nothing major. We also had tea in the restaurant, using a voucher out of the entertainment... More

We needed a comfortable, clean, quiet place to stay in Dunedin, and found it at Quality Hotel Cargills. We reserved our room for two adults and a Baby. Happy to find a warm room, all set with a nice baby cot. The room was on ground floor, opening to a well kept courtyard, featuring Native New Zealand species. My compliments... More

Terrible tatty, old, smelly, noisy place. Felt conned by the photos on the internet which certainly did not represent the room and decrepit bathroom we had. Expensive, paid top quality prices for third world environment. Wedding held same night we were there outside our room! Great, lots of noise and kids running around upstairs verandahs all day and night. Restaurant... More
