Vic's is a great spot for coffee, my favourite brekky in Ch'ch, and if you're headed home grab some ciabata or baguette. Vic's bread can be found at some of the city's best delis and rightly so. Sometimes have to be patient at the cash register while each person from group tables works out what they had and pays separately.... More

This cafe is our must visit on any trips to Christchurch. The coffee has always been great.Being vegetarians our favorite lunch is either hunza or lentil pies. These are served with very tasty side salads. The fresh breads on sale are a bonus. The staff are always friendly.

I am a little late in doing all the reviews from our May trip - there are quite a few to do, most are fantastic as we followed the places all reviewed by trip advisor members.... but this one failed us. We went for brunch and were expecting it to be crowded in the weekend as everyone on TA had... More

Breakfast was quite poor considering all the rave reviews. Ordered the pancakes with fresh fruit which was dry and the fruit was browning and a bit over ripe. I wasn't able to finish my coffee due to the bitter burnt taste being a bit overpowering. The actual atmosphere of the cafe is really nice.

Wonderful food. Vic's is recommended by locals and they go there too. Excellent breakfasts, breads, and coffees. Great service. Can get very crowded on weekends.

A short walk from many accomodation houses on Papanui road and Bealey Avenue this has to be the pick for brekky, brunch or lunch. Super fast service with a smile, excellent food and a fun and busy atmosphere with all the daily papers and lovely heaters for the chilly mornings, well worth dropping into Vics!

I am lactose intolerant and can't normally eat cheese products. However, a friend recommened the halloumi burger - and when I read the description on the board and saw the price (about 10 dollars, if I remember correctly), I HAD to try it (witch lactase tablets)!!! And I haven't regretted it. Scrumptious!!! I have since recommened the burger to other... More

This is a regular spot for me - for brunch, lunch or coffee. Their bakehouse bread is just divine and regularly sells out. Love having the choice of tailor made sandwiches, soups (in winter), a range of other dishes as well as all the usual brunch type dishes. There is always something that suits your appetite and mood. The cafe... More

Vic's cafe has a great small bakery in the cafe which sells delicious breads and bagels. The place can be very busy, but still when I was there my food was served very fast and to a high quality. The menu there has a great breakfast menu, and also a good coffee menu. Only downside is that when the place... More
