Delightful blend of old and new

These two Victorian villas have been merged and redesigned to create a historical haven perfect and very popular for a weekend brunch, lunch or coffee and treats. Wonderful food and coffee are served indoors and out, only a stones throw from the old arts Centre which thankfully is being restored.

We went on a quiet Sunday night and found the standard of service to be very good with prompt attention and timely presentation of the dishes. We commenced by sharing an entree of tempura soft shell crab which was a dish we had not tried before, and found it to be very tasty. There were four portions to the plate.... More

We enjoyed our meal and thought that the place was lovely, but sadly there were very few diners the evening we were there which meant that there was no atmosphere. That said, we would recommend this restaurant (but we preferred Fiddlesticks).

Had heard good things about this restaurant, but was disappointed with food and service. Took ages before someone took our drinks order. Inexperienced staff, said fish of the day was warehou. I asked what type of fish that was, to which the waitress said it was a white fish! Dah, most is except salmon. Chose steak instead. My steak arrived... More

I came here for my 18th birthday with a couple of friends and I am honestly so so pleased with how my afternoon turned out! We started off with a blueberry version of the Bellini coctail, reccommended by Justin (who was amazing, very chatty and professional!), which was so delicious and a super refreshing way to start the day off!... We came late for Lunch and may be a bit early for Dinner, around 5's The waiter greet us nicely, show us a table And there are around 4 tables occupied. She handed us the menu, which seems very light choice for Dinner. We tried to ask but no waitress around, finally after 10 - 15 min we managed to... More

Nice surroundings. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. Plenty of choice on menu and overall a nice experience. Would go back again.

Had a great night at the villas. The house was beautifully decorated and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I ordered the lamb shoulder and it was very yummy and full of flavor. When my meal arrived, i thought the portion size was a bit small, however looks can be deceiving! The meal was a perfect size for me and... More

A bit pricey but very good meats and dishes. Highly recommend the hare ravioli. We went on Boxing Day after Fiddlesticks, right down the road, was full.

Two lovely villas merged into one nice, yet affordable restaurant in Christchurch. The breakfast selection is very good and you can get it till 3pm at the weekend. The bacon cubes weren't crispy which I didn't like, but the rest was delicious. Past of the day was also good. Can recommend it.
