Excellent food and service

Quaint little seaside town bistro with excellent, healthy, tasty and interesting choices. Parking easy but the view is still dominated by earthquake damage control. Prices a tad high but why not if you can keep the tables so full! A little noisy, sound deadening tiles would be nice. All in all... read more

A lovely meal out for a 21st birthday celebration - a good atmosphere created by the busy, but not overcrowded room and wonderful attentive staff. The food is of a very high standard and well presented - pretty much anything on the menu is good and you'll be happy with your choice. We had a no-holds-barred meal for our special... More

We walked in at 8.30pm on a beautiful Friday evening with no reservation, they were happy to fit our two couples in. The staff never hurried us as we viewed the menu and ordered. Food was absolutely outstanding, their wine list appears small but it has a wonderful choice of very fine wines. Meals were a perfect proportion with room... More

Nice venue, with good atmosphere but concrete floors made it a bit loud. Six of us came here and ordered a range of meals. I was a little surprised when half frozen raspberries were in my salad. I'm not a super picky eater but the amount of oil and butter in another side was over powering. There was very difference... More

I have eaten here for fine dining in an evening and lunch with friends or family. Last visit was with a group of friends and we had a great time thanks to the perfect service and wonderful food. Highly recommend.

A great place, mainly full of locals...and no wonder provided the food served. Felt a bit underdressed as the charm of the restaurant seems to make it a date or romantic dinner hangout. We enjoyed the food and can only recommend.

We have been eating regularly at The Cornershop Bistro since it opened and have never been disappointed. This is the only place in Christchurch where you can be sure of excellence every visit. Every dish is executed with flare and care. Duck confit, coq au vin and the fish of the day are firm favorites with the family.

We stumbled across the Cornershop Bistro on a very wild and stormy night and felt as though we had discovered a real treasure - fabulous menu, creative and surprising - the grilled goat's cheese + nuts was beautiful, the steak, the best we've had for a long time - and a good wine list. Great well informed service, nice ambience,... More
