I had never had Burmese food before and can't believe I've been missing out all these years! Delicious, fresh food served in small dishes to share so you get to try lots of different dishes and flavours. Really interesting flavours. Try the tea salad - unusual and delicious! Make sure you book ahead as it is very popular!

Clean and flavourful dishes to delight the senses! Delicious mushrooms and creme brulee to finish our favourite! Highly recommend! Cannot wait to try the other dishes :)

Never ate Burmese food before. It was surprisingly good. Call to make a reservation. Many restaurants in Christchurch fill up even on a week night. It is a small plates sharing restaurant and upon recommendation from tripsdvisor we ordered tea salad, eggplant, skirt steak, fish. Very good. Creme brûlée was a big hit.

The Bodhi Tree was recommended by friends who have good taste in food. They had to relocate after the quake. It seems like all their fans have found them because they alway seem so busy (though they are closed Sundays and Mondays). Burmese food served tapas style so that everyone can enjoy the taste sensations. Our meals were excellent, service... More

The Bodhi Tree is a guaranteed good night out. Either for a meal for two or with a group. The food is constantly good and the price is inexpensive. You can byo wine which is a bonus (wine shop across the road). We always bring friends from out of town to have a different experience trying Burmese food.

Had heard really great things, but left a little disappointed. Tea salad different but nice, worth trying. Dumplings a bit bland. Four dishes for two people plus a dessert each was plenty. Creme brulee was definitely the highlight. Atmosphere was lacking. May go again.

I was trying to find a place to go for a special evening with my fiancee and stumbled across this place on Trip Advisor. After reading the reviews, I was convinced and I booked us a table for Saturday night. Let's just say I wasn't wrong. The restaurant itself is humble and not flashy (which it doesn't need to be).... Cannot find one thing on the menu that i dislike, and they serve small tapas-style plates so if there was something you didn't care for you won't be wasting heaps of money. Love the TeaSalad, marinated raw fish, calamari and for desert semolina torte.

We dined here with friends and all four of us had an amazing meal. The staff were friendly, the food exquisite and so many new tastes. We will be back!

My daughter had raved about this restaurant for years but could never get me there as I don't tend to try new foods. Last week I finally succumbed and had an amazing meal with my family. The menu was extensive, the meals were different to anything else and the flavours were awesome. I particularly enjoyed the tamarind fish, beef curry... More
