The food is good but thought it was a little pricey. The service was fantastic, the two guys were chatty and helpful and quick off the mark to meet our needs.

Had dinner here last night or our NZ trip and it did not disappoint, the menu was varied and interesting and I had the best seafood cerviche of our whole trip here. My partners venison main was amazing , so tender and well cooked , and an enormous portion too,my lamb was almost cooked to perfection and a very generous... More

Loved the food but we were in a small room at a table near a party of three loud and very foul mouthed businessmen

We could not fault this restaurant, everything was excellent, the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Great friendly staff, who were very obliging, and shared some jovial banter with us. Food was absolutely amazing, well presented, well cooked, and tasted fantastic. Good wine list assisted with the meal being outstanding. Good vegetarian option as well. We would definitely go there... More

I recently went to this restaurant with my wife and a couple of friends and have been urged to write this review as a result. The pork belly I had was perfect! The Three Boys Brewery IPA was perfect! Hence it was a perfect evening. Can say no more.

Nice atmosphere, very pleasant surroundings. Interesting decor. We were lucky to get a table as we hadn't booked. The menu appeared to be limited, which surprised us, and the only thing we fancied was the venison. The description on the menu did not do the meal justice. The venison loin was triple cooked, and was the most tender and flavoursome... More

After getting drinks and looking at the menu two business colleges and I were seated near the bar. The room was really neat with vintage paintings, and looked like a typical bistro, but the food and service were top notch. Between the three of us we had the marinated olive assortments, Oxtail Soup, with smoked paprika, pearl barley and truffle... More

An unusual place, as suggested by the above title. Food was very good, the environment in the front was idiosyncratic and the staff excellent - friendly, cheerful and helpful. Would certainly visit again, if ever in Christchurch. We went as a foursome and were well looked after. The barman in the outside lean-to recommended a cider to one of our... More

Decent environment. But abit let down with the decor on the table. White paper table top with two HUGE clips on the side holding it together on the table. Beef tartare was decent. Had the Canterbury duck for my main and it was over cooked. My partner ordered the wild venison and it was the highlight of the night. I... More

The decor here is described elsewhere as idiosyncratic but we were pleased with it; the cocktails were fine and the food excellent. Reviewing the memory of this I have upped the review to 5 stars.
