Lovely English style pub

Visited here in November 2014 whilst on holiday in Christchurch. We walked from our hotel on Hereford Street (Ibis) and it took about 1/2 hour. We are regulars here, sometimes just for a drink, sometimes for a drink and a snack, sometimes for a full meal. Regardless of when or why, the experience is always outstanding, hence why we continue to return. The food is exemplary, a bit dear, but given the quality, easy to digest. Not only do they brew their own beer on... More

As a fan of craft beers, I wanted to experience a place that has had plenty of buzz in the beer world. It has a solid relaxed feel to it and the beer selection on tap is fantastic. I ordered a piggy feast of pork belly with a side of cracking. My friend had the scotch fillet. The pork belly... More

You BAe to do your research in Christchurch . Not many restaurants pubs in the city centre. This one an easy walk and well worth it. Craft beers, live entertainment , pool and fish and chips to natch Whitby. The fish and batter were to die for!

We visited on a friends recommendation of the best British style fish and chips in Christchurch. Whilst there was a great lunchtime atmosphere, superb beers and excellent service, the food was a huge letdown. The batter melted off the fish when you squeezed the lemon over it and it we all left feeling disappointed. Would definitely head back for a... More

Good service. Unfortunately no beer list at the table, as we were seated away from the bar instead having to ask the server..? the starter, jalapeño cheese dip served with bread. Was really satisfying in flavour and not too spicy just a little. and large enough to share as a good size starter for two. I had the vegetarian dish,... More

Situated on edge of city centre. Micro brewery on premises making excellent beer. Good pub food, recommend the pulled pork sandwich. Note it is closed on Mondays

Loved our evening at this unique pub in Christchurch. Its a little way out from the centre of the city but well worth the effort to get there (we did walk it). The atmosphere was friendly and easy-going. The service was excellent and it was easy to find a place to sit, even though it was busy. The food in... More
