A group of six sitting outside on the first still warm night in Christchurch . Disappointed that once we had chosen our food we were told we could only have food from the snack menu, it was only 7.30pm on a Saturday night. Surely it would not have been too much effort to supply a pulled pork sandwich and a... More

Enjoyed a very nice evening here. Popular proper pub with excellent selection of beers. Good selection of food - ours was excellent. Enjoyed the live music too.

We came here after reading about the craft beers and also tasty food. Walked in the door clearly not locals. People looked at us. Nothing more. We found a table and then after servers walked by 5 times went to the counter and asked about table service. What I really wanted to say was thanks for making us feel unwelcome... More

I eat at Pomeroys a lot , the main reason why is the quality of the food and the level of service is very good, I dine out all over New Zealand and I have to say i can relay on Pomeroys to be consistent in food quality and service - WELL done Pomeroys team. Its also great that they... More

We arrived here from a long drive from Dunedin and upon arrival were so very pleased with the room. Their boutique accomodation is separate from the pub itself and a lovely house with only 6 rooms or so. We got a complimentary drink and went for a drink and ended up dining there as well. The thing that made us... More

31 Taps and all New Zealand Beers. NZ makes some pretty good Craft beers and if you want to try a few, this is the place to do it. They had beers from both Islands and would have to say that the Garage Project beers compare with Dogfish quality. The food is very good their chicken wings are fantastic. The... More

From a kiwi kid who spend over 2 years frequenting the old pubs and hole in the walls in London I love enjoying a pint or 5 or meal at Pomeroy's. Great for the family or catching up with a couple of mates. Also one of the best places in town to catch a game of Rugby.

We've spent there last night and it was just great. This place lives! Full of people, live music, great selection of tap beers - actually 31. We were not able to taste them all, but all we've had were just great. They serve almost microbrewery beers. It was not overcrowded and price was just right - about $10 for a... More

Great selection of beers and nice old style atmosphere. One of the few old pubs to survive the earthquakes.

We ate in their restaurant as a family party and I can simply say that it was good on every count. Easy parking, good atmosphere, great service, good menu and lovely food. All our meals were delicious, especially the risotto and the quantities generous. Would definitely visit again. The bar itself was lively and maybe a bit noisy if you... More
