Procope is an iconic Christchurch cafe. We are now in a new building on Fendalton Rd (on the way to the airport from the city). Our coffee is roasted locally at Hummingbird and we have 6 varieties to take home. We have a range of cabinet food which changes daily as well as a breakfast and lunch menu. We are licensed with a focus on local beer, cider and wine.

Coffee in the sun

We were recently visiting Christchurch and went to Procope on the recommendation of locals. We were not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed our long blacks, which are always a test for a barista. Although we didn't order a meal we sampled the baking which is done in house and was very tasty. All... read more

A nice good quality lunch. We were in the area and looking for something. The cafe served nice food, I had a steak sandwich and my wife an open chicken sandwich. Both were really good. The food came quickly and we had no issues . There is the usual menu of both brunch and cafe food. A nice stop situated... More

We had a quick lunch here the other day. The coffee was acceptable and the food was ok too. It's a great looking place but the food and service is just ok. My eggs Benedictine had hard eggs that annoyed and was completely avoidable that was disappointing and simply reaffirms my view that it was just an ok place a... More

Had to wait 50 minutes for breakfast then gobble and go! Not the first time either. At our table everyone had a previous experience of slow service at Procope.

We enjoy the consistently beautiful tasting coffee and sitting upstairs, watching the world go by. The one blemish in their record for us, is that the service can be patchy. At times it's a little less friendly than it could be. We always enjoy our coffee though!

-the one next to the fitting room- A friend and I recently had breakfast here. I had the eggs benedict with bacon and she the salmon. It was beautiful. Was served on nice hot plates with wonderful wait staff. We sat up stairs in the sun looking over the road watching the world go by. I shall be back

It was long past coffee time when we finally got off the bus from the airport after and early morning flight and walked into Procope (Victoria St). The coffee arrived quickly and was hot and well made. We particularly liked the cups the coffee was served in. The cinnamon pinwheel scone was also a delicious and welcome addition.

Procope in Victoria St has just reopened after earthquake repairs. The food is very good and the decor is great too. The coffee is really excellent. But a 45 minute wait for food when much of it was from the cabinet is not acceptable. There seemed to plenty of staff none of whom were in the slightest bit interested in... More
