I would rate 3.5, hubby rates as 4

Good - service friendly and efficient, comfy seats, booths that seat up to 5-6, meat beautifully cooked, good choice on menu with separate list of specials. Average - lack of veges/salad that come with main - had to order side of salad(which was more a coleslaw) and bowl of chips being the only... read more

The seating restaurant is well spaced and the environment relaxed. It is not too noisy and so is a good place for an evening with friends to be able to talk. The service was excellent with attentive staff. The food was good and presented well. I will return.

You can always find a seat here & thought a perfect stop for a quick eat before attending a meeting. Wait staff very attentive. Ordered the bacon & corn soup - fast & light for a long evening ahead of tedium. The bacon was not cooked!! chopped up and was obviously cooked when the soup was heating. You had the... More

One of the best meals I've had. Hidden gem in Merivale. Everything that was brought out to eat was great and being a BYO is a bonus

There is something lacking in the atmosphere of this place. Definitely more bistro than restaurant - trouble is they're charging restaurant prices. I had a beef salad which was tasty enough - consisted of thin slices of beef laid in a circle with a bundle of salad leaves dropped in the middle. At $18 I'd feel it was value. At... More

Great service and great atmosphere, but this place is really let down by the food and their pricing. On first glance the menu sounds great. However, paying upwards of $35 was a bit of a sting for what was really a pretty plain meal. Don't get me wrong- the food is nice but for what I paid I expected more... More

I can understand why this restaurant rates so highly. Lunch with three others last week and all of us were very impressed with the food, reasonably priced as well. Good service with nice decor & atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Had a fantastic dinner to celebrate my fathers birthday. I had the pork belly which was melt in your mouth amazing!! My father had the ribeye, best he's ever had! I've never tasted beef like it, divine. My mother had the duck, 3 ways. She also loved her dish. All in all a beautiful meal, the dishes not only tasted... More

Delicious lunch, served promptly, Busy place with either tables and chairs or in quieter corner/bench seating

This relatively small bistro is a gem - excellent food, good service and reasonable wine prices. There were six of us, and we shared a comfortable booth; the restaurant was less than half full, which I thought odd given the warm atmosphere, very good quality food and service. Highly recommended, especially on a cold Christchurch night!
