Went to Becks - our local eatery, with some old friends as we had a lot of catching up to do. Lots of chatter and reminising.Had got a voucher on Grab One so this made the evening more affordable. The menu is quite pricey for pub food I thought. The meal was very slow to come out but it was... More

We had recently moved into the area and were hoping that that this would be a regular eating place for us. Not to be. We had a wait and had been warned about that, but the meals were disappointing. it didn't appear to be a very busy night. My husband's meat was inedible and even though he didn't eat much... More

I went to Becks Southern Alehouse for a meal with friends. I'd always been a bit suspicious of the appearance of the place so was hardly disappointed when the service I received was extremely slow and the food only average when it arrived. The highlight of the meal was when a companion suggested that his order of Fish and Chips... More

Visited here on Saturday 5 April and whilst we had some very tasty bread and dips things went downhill from there. Ended up leaving after a 50 minute wait for mains and a conversation with the manager that beggared belief. He denied the length of the wait, notwithstanding till docket evidence to the contrary, and appeared more concerned at the... More

After previously eating here 3 times in the last 9 months, as its our local i have to say this last visit in September was the best yet. On our previous visits, the food was not up to standard and we had to complain twice. However, since the chef has been changed, what a difference!!! We had a really wonderful... More

Nice quite place for a Tuesday lunch. Was not rushed. Good meal and service. Took my ex Mother in Law and she really enjoyed her fish and chip lunch parking right outside. May not always be possible but a bonus today. Have been before and will go again.

As this restaurant is in our local suburb we have visited this "pub" a few times before and found the food to be reasonable value for money, however on this occassion we were horrified to be informed (with no apology) we would not be seated, at 7.45pm on a Sunday, because the kitchen was closing! The Christchurch restaurant scene is... More

45 minutes after placing our order for our meal of market fish and the blue cod, I decided to start writing my review as there is no sign of our meal. I am however enjoying my Speights summit and the company of my wife. On a Thursday at 6:45 for a meal, you would expect there to be orange roughy... More

Went with 3 people for dinner mid week, the lighting is very poor to read the menu, I was struggling to see it.Dinner menu is small but ok. My guests had the Blue Cod which was generous and cooked well. My meal of chicken was Luke warm and my veges cold, the staff replaced them with piping hot fresh ones.... More

My wife and I booked a table for 7.00pm yesterday (a Saturday). When we arrived it was full. We got seated promptly and were given enough time to settle before the waiter approached - he was very pleasant, knowledgeable and had a great memory taking our initial order without writing it down (as he did all night and got the order...
