Named after the original walnut trees that lined the entrance to the winery, lunch at our Twelve Trees Restaurant is a must for visitors, and locals alike. The great food and relaxing atmosphere, whether in the sheltered courtyard, or inside by the fire, provide a warm welcome. Menus change seasonally to reflect Head Chef, Matt Gibson's simple food philosophy "fresh & local". However a couple of signature dishes, including the Seafood Chowder, which has become a local favourite, remain on the menu year round. Come in and try it with the delicious Wallops Chardonnay!

Second visit and as sensational as the first

We spontaneously called in for lunch and were so pleased we did. The seafood chowder was perfect and very reasonable. My husband really enjoyed the chefs special lamb pie. The setting is peaceful and even on a cold day it was warm and welcoming inside.

This was our second visit. The service was excellent and the food was quite delicious. Neither "She Who Must Be Obeyed" nor I are garlic lovers. We ordered to be fillet steak and explained that we didn't want garlic mash. Our waitress very kindly offered us a range of other choices. After some reflection we decided that we would try... More

We wanted a winery lunch & decided on Alan Scott as we have been there before & loved it. Previously we have eaten here in warm weather & so have always enjoyed the beautiful outside area, but Blenheim was a bit chilly this visit so we sat upstairs. We had a beautiful view to the vineyard through a small window... More

Thank you for your review. One of the reasons we remain open year round, is that in summer it is beautiful outside, but in winter it is lovely and cosy inside. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your experience here. As for the coffee.... thanks for the feedback... we will look into. More

I was desperately in the mood for seafood chowder and knew there were some good ones at various restaurants in Blenheim. This one came up as "best seafood chowder ever" on the Google search; and they were not wrong! Amazing thick, hot, creamy chowder with fresh succulent prawns, fish and the famous oh-so-delicious NZ green-lipped mussels. It was served with... More

A wonderful spot to stop for lunch while doing a winery tour. Enjoy the complimentary tastings when dining. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and it was delicious. A big meal, nicely accompanied by a glass of their own. Give it a crack and you will not be disappointed.

We stopped here for lunch on the recommendation of friends in Kaikoura. The outdoor patio was warm and sunny on a cool fall day. The menu had just changed for the season and we dined on salmon poached in pinot noir and a mussel salad. The food was well prepared with nice presentation. The wait staff seemed a bit disorganized... More

We had read reviews of several wineries that offer meals in the Blenheim area, and were impressed by those of Twelve Trees. It was a weekday, and not too busy, although there was a small tour group at another table. They must have pre-ordered, because they were quickly served and out in record time. We did a wine tasting, and... More
