Acceptable food, but perfunctory service with attitude

Reading others' review of Vintners, it's possible we struck the restaurant on a bad night. It was Saturday night and the restaurant was about a third full. We tried the new menu last night and it was fantastic, warm winter flavours like the barbacoa of lamb and the artichoke ravioli. A perfect nigh with a bottle of Marlborough Pinot and service that was so seamless it was like magic! Thanks Scott and the Guys in the Kitchen for a memorable night. We will return

We stayed a few nights at the attached accommodation which is quiet nice and good value. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the restaurant. I should have heeded the reviews on trip advisor but it was late and we were hungry. With so many other fantastic restaurants in the area like Hans Herzog and Alan Scott this place needs... More

Food was average. Friendly staff that tried to accommodate gluten allergy although they offered to make a gluten free pizza base which turned out to be a base made entirely of cheese which was so hard it was hard to even eat, I have never had a pizza where the base is just pure cheese, was not edible. Nice that... More

My husband and I went here after a day of travel. The portions were very small, and pricey for what it was. My meal was a pork-based dish that had been molded by a soup can and chilled. I still don't know what it was, but it would have been better as an appetizer given the size and the fact... More

Nice place to get together with important people or to have a cosy place to enjoy the company of your loved ones. Classic menu to choose from, red meat, chicken, fish or vegetarian, it's available. They served the local wines to go with your meal. Wonderful, cheerful staff ready to serve you with a smile. The food we ordered were... More

Nice atmosphere but the food had way too many flavors and sauces going on. Food is very expensive but not very good.

Chef Jason sources local produce to deliver a small but outstanding menu complemented by local wines. The outdoor dining area is a plus and as is the tasting room.
