Beautiful food, excellent staff, stunning surroundings all add up to a gorgeous summer lunch in the stunning garden under overhead vines with just enough dappled sunlight filtering through to enjoy the garden and lunch. On both occasions no flies, which in Blenheim is a miracle. Lots of wee birds around which is probably the answer. Their lovely wine complemented the... More

As we were staying in the gorgeous Estate Cottage for 2 nights it was natural that we eat at the restaurants. We ate in the Michelin Star Restaurant on the first night which was quite, refined with the food exactly as we would have expected and obviously lovely wines to suit. Ther second night we ate in the bistro. It... More

We had lunch at the restaurant as part of a wine tour . It was a lovely day so we sat outside in the garden amongst the vines . Our experience was a great one right from the start ! The waiter was charming and helpful and the food was spot on . The food was paired with wine from... More

We really liked this place for a smart meal whether in the fine dining or the bistro. Try the bistro. The food is prepared by the same first class chefs and it's cheaper. Service is excellent. Book in advance to get a table inside. It gets cold outside but you are offered blankets!

If it's not, it should be... WOW! WOW! WOW! Expensive but WOW! Fine dining at it's best! ***** Both the food and the wine are amazing and I know because... My wife and I pretty much tried everything they had to offer as we devoured the 7 course degustation meal with wine to match each course! So delicious! I thought... More

Most New Zealand vineyards have good restaurants attached and it is not easy to differentiate them because mostly they are of a high standard. I think what did it for us was sitting outside in dappled sunlight surrounded by vines AND experiencing very good food and their own Chardonnay to go with the salmon.

Classy restaurant in a very good location but food is well below expectations and overpriced. Meat is not exceptional, rather the opposite and staff is also not great. I would recommend looking for other options in the area.

We took the vineyard tour before enjoying dinner at the restaurant. They accommodated my wife's food intolerances (gluten and dairy) without batting an eyelid, providing a taster menu that was just as exciting as mine. Wine's excellent! About the best meal we had on a 3 month tour of Oz and NZ (including several 2/3 hat restaurants)

We had a small lunch in the bistro at Hans Herzog. We started with the octopus salad with kimchee, which was nice. Then we had the Winemakers Platter with bread, 3 cheeses and house cured meats. It was nice. One nitpick is a cheese that was described as a 'camembert style' that was clearly not that (closer to a nutty... More

This was by far the best of the 6 wineries we visited on a tour of the Marlborough region. We received a warm welcome from the German host (name escapes me), and enjoyed a superb 5 wine tasting session. Informative and fun, it was an hour very well spent. Thoroughly recommend a visit
