A lively atmosphere with great food

We had dinner there - the menu and wine list were quite extensive. We had a trio of appetisers to share followed by extremely fresh fish. You choose your fish (I had salmon and my friend had groper ). You then have a choice of salads and dressings to have with your fish.

A brilliant early evening meal with one slight blemish! Booked a window table in advance to take advantage of Shed 5's waterfront setting and we were not disappointed. The staff were attentive, most efficient and well versed in the menu and the wine list. The entree and the meal was excellent, and the waiter's recommendation of an accompanying wine was... More

Heard mixed revues about this place but decided to try it as it was close to our hotel., what an absolute delight...first Pacific Oysters with white balsamic vinegar with fresh lemon...best on this trip! Followed by lovely creamy duck pate washed down with a NZ Sav Blanc, nice and dry. Then the main course of Grouper with mussels...nice ambience on... More

We were hoping to go to the crab shack next door but as it was full we ended up here. What a stroke of luck as the service was great and the food excellent at very reasonable prices. I had the risotto of the day and my partner had the fish and chips - both beautifully cooked and very tasty!... More

Fifty-five minutes between very fresh oysters and the next course, served only after a complaint about the unconscionable delay! And my companions salad was delayed so much more that she cancelled the order. Numerous empty tables but a clearly overtaxed kitchen. "We have a private party of thirty folks and the kitchen is taxed!" I had the sense that our... More

Food was excellent, all the dishes were really well balanced and the presentation was great. The service was second to none and the recommendations from our waiter were all excellent. The atmosphere and the restaurant was nice and feels very clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about eating here, especially if you are a seafood fan.

We had a healthy and tasty meal at Shed 5 (we had fresh salmon and seafood risotto). Just what we were looking for, but not memorable. Our waiter was friendly and helpful.

Location was fantastic despite the harbour view being blocked by what can only be described as a terribly ugly shed. Not the restaurants fault, Wellington give needs to demolish it. Shed 5 is a great repurposing of a wonderful building sympathetically modernised. Service fantastic and as always, NZ fresh produce was exceptional and treated with beautiful respect by the chef....
