Excuse the hyperbole... but these are best milkshakes and malts in the world

I've done my fair share of travelling... and I've had a few milkshakes, thickshakes, smoothies, malts and other concoctions... but the milkshakes and malts at Maranui Surf Lifesaving Cafe are by far the best I have ever had. They are perfect. Forget Johnny Rockets or Max Brenner or wherever you... read more

Maranui Surf Club is always popular, often with queues down the stairs. But it is well worth the wait. Regardless of the weather, there is always something to look at outside towards Lyall Bay and the airport. This time I chose the Eggs Benedict (actually no surprise, as I continue my search for the perfect bene). Maranui presents this as... More

Amazing food, had to queue to get in but the view was worth it. Friendly staff also. Bit selection on the menu and in the food cabinet. Worth a visit again but maybe on a quieter day!!!!

We keep coming back to Maranui because we truly enjoy this place. The food is always amazing, last time I had scrambled eggs on gf toast with a side of baked beans and hash browns, this is what i usually order and never disappoints me. The only issue is that you usually need to wait for a while to get... More

Great cafe. Great coffee, and the salads are unbelievably good. It seems to always be busy, but parking is easy and they always seem to be able to squeeze you in. Well worth a visit.

I lived in Wellington for a number of years and this was my favourite cafe. Albeit busy, service was always efficient and friendly. The place is quirky and retro, and having been re-built after a fire, still retains a cool atmosphere. Really good coffee and the best brunches. A must try is either the Big Bay or Vegetarian Big Breakfast.... More

Arrived here for lunch and the place was very busy but we were seated at a table at the window overlooking the water. Food and coffee was delicious as was the service and the venue. Clean restrooms. Recommend this cafe

Although we arrived on an extremely busy day and the cafe was full we were quickly ushered to our seats and served with immaculate speed. The setting is gorgeous as it has fantastic views of the bay and the decor of the restaurant is upbeat, ecclectic and interesting. My orange juice was freshly squeezed and cold. The Big Maranui Breakfast... More

Located looking out over the bay, with prime views to watch the beach goers and surfers enjoy the waves. Having heard great cudos for the food at Maranui, it was about time we visited. Arriving, there was a line out the door and staff advised about a 30minute wait to be seated. We chose to wait. It was a busy... More
