When I lived in Wellington this was somewhere I probably went once a week, and always when returning from an overseas trip due to being so close to the airport. Now it's somewhere that I try to visit every time I am in Wellington. There's usually a queue down the stairs and a wait for the food, but it's always... More

Had never heard of this place a local took me. Busy even on a Wednesday at 1.30 but got a table. Great old building with amazing views and terrific atmosphere. Food also delicious and I can see why it is so popular. Worth the drive.

Very, very busy. Queued down the stairs waiting to get in but well worth the wait. Usually places with a view (views over the wild sea and busy airport runways) aren't that flash when it comes to food quality, pricing, service and great coffee but this place excels on all counts.

Lunch at the Maranui Cafe - after a wait in a queue for a table with a view, we gave our order and while waiting enjoyed the wonderful sight of the sea and surf. The toasted sandwiches were very tasty when they arrived and the coffee was hot. I definitely recommend this cafe.

The Vege 'Victory' Breakfast is amazing, one of the best in Wellington, and the smoothies are AWESOME! A definite favourite when you have time for a trek out that way.

I recently went to Maranui and despite the long line we were seated and served relatively quickly. The pancakes and spirulina smoothie were superb. Top marks.

While Maranui can regularly be found near the top of any 'Best Wellington Cafes' list, I've never figured out why. The cafe is regularly very full - to the point where you feel uncomfortably crammed in. There is often a long wait for a table, and once seated, the service is slow and there's a long wait for food. The... More

We arrived into Wellington just after nine our friend decided to take us for brunch, what a treat it was! The food is lovely, the views of the water is even better. I had a toasted sandwich and a bowl of chips to share (both were massive serving)! Whilst eating there was kite-surfing, lovely to watch and eat! Highly recommend... More

The view was a wash because of the weather! But the Date Scone was interesting with a blend of orange rind. A busy cafe
