Nice busy café at the beach. Great atmosphere, good service. Nice coffees, muffin and chips. It’s a very busy café, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and there was a wait. Also, even though it’s a seaside café if you’re not at a table by the window, you won’t really have a view. But it was nice, people seemed happy... More

A friend recommended this place to us. I wish we had known about it before our disastrous lunch at Arthur's in Wellington. The outside gives very little clue to the little gem inside. As you climb the stairs there are fabulous old photos on the walls of past lifeguards. The interior is just wonderful, a bit 1950's American style diner.... More

We are definitely going back to this place next time we are in Wellington. We called in for a coffee but decided on a milkshake. A trendy young man with heaps of pizazz served us and he was so helpful and welcoming. The food that was going out to the other patrons looked superb and we were wishing we had... More

This is a great café. The staff are always seem to be in a good mood and are very helpful. The café overlooks Lyall Bay with lovely views. The food is amazing. It does get packed with people of all ages and can be noisy at times, but worth the wait. Definitely recommend this café when visiting Wellington

Maranui is a personal favourite cafe of mine in the wellington region on a nice day there is a gorgeous view out from lyall bay and a walk along the beach after lunch never goes a miss. Although there are sometimes long waits to be seated and on food (particularly in the weekend) it is well worth the wait. The... More

It was Mothers day so busy ++ but still no wait. Not the best Eggs Benedict I have had- very little hollandaise sauce which I had to request more of and overall just not that good or generous in size. But enjoyed the view and had 2 coffees as this was excellent. Easy parking, nice environment and efficient staff.

This is one of the best brunch places in Wellington, the bakery cabinet is very tempting. The pancakes are good, although the don't quite beat Beach Babylon's. However, I wouldn't say it's a relaxing experience with the gaggles of people.

This is one of the best breakfast cafes in Wellington. Great view, lovely food and wait staff, and priced reasonably compared to a lot of the expensive breakfast options in the downtown. Get here. Early on a weekend as there are no bookings.

Absolutely LOVE Maranui! The atmosphere, the food and the view are always fabulous. Such a great, well known spot for locals but would be a pleasure for travelers to visit too. Do beware that this place is always (and I really mean always!) busy, lines go down the stairs to get a table but it's totally worth it. Just make... More
