We had dinner and lunch here. As it is whitebait season we couldn't go past whitebait fritters for mains both times. Stunning fritters. For dinner we also had really great French onion soup. It was still bubbling when it came to the table. The service was prompt and friendly. With Rex Morgan in the kitchen, what more could one want!

We chose this restaurant for the simplest of reasons- the cottage it is housed in! However it turned out to be one of the best treats we've had. Our choice was lunch as we were going to W.o.W in the evening and didn't want to rush our meal. Our waiter was wonderful, and the meal just excellent. The restaurant has... More

I wanted to take our Italian visitors somewhere special in the capital and Boulcott St Bistro certainly delivered. Excellent menu gave our guests an opportunity to try whitebait fritters and there was the classic Pars style steak served blue, warm and cold. Very good wine menu and excellent service.

We had a Friday night dinner with friends when we were in Wellington for WOW. We had not eaten here before. The restaurant was well patronised and we were offered a table upstairs. The stairs are both narrow and steep, but the upstairs was perfect for us. We had the upstairs space to ourselves which meant it was quiet and... More

My first comment is that the restaurant does not take booking for dinner, so you just turn up and hope for the best. It was a Saturday night so we decided to arrive at 6:30 and we were in luck for a table for two. In truth by 6:45 the place was full. I could not believe this small window... More

We had a great family celebration: dinner for 12 in their private upstairs room. Lovely food and excellent staff.

We were down in Wellington for the day and decided to have lunch at this place, they had a lunch special which I believe was $20 for risotto, it was the most delicious risotto I've ever had and so big I could hardly finish it, excellent value for money.. definitely one of my favourites. My co-worker had fish, some delicious... More

Great setting, very nice atmosphere, good wine selection and knowledge from staff of the menu, but waitress was not up to the usual standard.
