For a long time Boulcott used to annoy me lots - it was one of those restaurants where you couldn't book. That seemed OK if it was somewhere in the CBD and you could walk past and move on if it was full, but not Boulcott. Parking is OK in the car park opposite, but its still not a walk... More

We were seated early despite the lack of reservations and were served wine while we waited for the kitchen to open. When it did, we were served a delightful meal - a bit of inconsistency in the accompaniments - but a delicious local Pinot Noir.

Best food we had our trip. The restaurant is located in a rather quaint house so on full house it could be somewhat noisy. The service was OK.

the bistro was recommended to my husband and myself by our hotel. We visited on a Monday night and walked in were seated immediately. Soon after arriving at noise level increased to point where we could not carry on a conversation. We waited about 30 minutes before our drink and food order was taken. We waited and waited for our... My partner and I went here for our anniversary and were not disappointed!! Absolutely delicious food, great service, and timing was faster than expected. We both ordered entrees and mains, and shared a desert (which was definitely unnecessary but we couldn't resist after seeing the dark chocolate eclair with orange and white chocolate ice cream on the menu!!). Would definitely... More

It's great not having to book. They were fill to the brim but got us to a table in 30 minutes. The food was great. The portions are well measured and not to small or excessive which allows you to enjoy three courses. The food service was excellent and timely. The drinks service let them a little down. We ordered... More

We were only in town for one night and wanted a place we could walk to from our hotel. Although they don't take reservations, once we emailed from the road, they held a table for 4 hungry travelers ... nice move. Be sure you know where it is ... kind of easy to miss. Didn't seem to matter what we... More

We'd done our research before heading to the Bistro and were not disappointed. Food and service were fantastic. We had the beef and lamb and both were to die for. Just a tip the busy time is at about 7.00, but if you get there at about 8.00 there's no wait for a table, unless of course you're a large... More

Wellington is full of surprises. Just when you think that there isn't much else but parking lots and tall ugly offices you find these places like Boulcott Street Bistro. It is almost under the motorway squeezed between tall concrete monsters, and it is beautiful! The old wooden picturesque cottage has one of the best restaurants in town. The atmosphere inside...
